Hi I'm Camilla

I'm the oldest of seven kids. I am an art major. I love nature, animals, music, books, and theater, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Being the oldest of seven kids is hard work, but I love it. I love my parents and every one of my brothers and sisters are so very special. Our family likes to go fishing and camping together. We also have a dog, a cat, twelve chickens and several tanks of fish that we add to the list of family. (In the past this list has also included two pet rats, several other cats, three rabbits, and another dog). I have always loved to draw. I am currently enrolled in college as an art major, and hope to someday be either a professional artist (oil painting, watercolor, sculpture) or an illustrator of young adult novels or children's books. I love to read. I've already done some illustrations for a lady who was self publishing a story as a christmas present for her girls. I'm also considering possibly becoming an art teacher. I also like movies. Disney movies are some of my favorites, along with Pride and Prejudice, and others but I also like slightly older movies like Singing in the Rain and The Court Jester. I've participated in multiple plays in High School and community theater, mostly musicals, but I have been in a few dramas as well. I love to sing and have been in some kind of choir virtually all the time since fifth grade. I have recently picked up crochet as another thing I'm learning to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born into this church, but over time I have come to gain my own testimony of its truthfulness. I know this church is true. I know the Book of Mormon in true. I know that Christ died for me and suffered the atonement for me that I might be able to be resurrected from the dead at the last day and also that I might be able to return and live with him. I know that there are prophets on the earth right now receiving revelation from God for our day. I know that our church is headed by a prophet and that he loves us and gives us God's word. I know that God loves me, and all of us; and that if we come to him he will bless us. My life has been blessed beyond measure by my wonderful Father in Heaven and I want to live in a way that he will be proud of me. I know that through modern revelation and the blessings of the temples I can be with my family forever, through time and all eternity if I live worthily. I love this gospel, and the truth that it holds.

How I live my faith

In my community I help out with the community theater and I am also a Junior instructor in the local 4-H sewing group. In my job, which allows me to be around animals, I teach the people that visit the place I work about the animals and help out with running the park. I get to meet people from all over the world where I work and I love meeting them. I also love playing with the animals. God's creations are wonderful. I read my scriptures daily, pray, attend my Sunday church meetings and try to live by the church rules as best I can during the weekdays as well. I am also always looking for ways to help other people. I do not drink, coffee, tea, caffeine, or smoke, or do any other type of drugs in accordance with my church's Word of Wisdom (a modern revelation given in the 1800's by the Prophet Joseph Smith) which is a sort of health code we as members live by. In my church meetings it is my job to greet the ladies of our single adult ward as they come to the women's meeting and I make sure they and their room-mates are doing well. A friend and I also visit with two of my fellow women from the ward monthly to make sure they are doing well. I try to show my fellow college students I care about them. Simply smiling at the students I walk by in the hallways and saying hello can make a big difference in their day. Service doesn't have to be a huge project every time. Sometimes just doing something small can brighten a person's day. I love my Savior Jesus Christ, and strive to live as he did in all I do and say.
