Hi I'm Eric

I have lived in Simi Valley California my entire life. I love to play football. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am planning on going into the medical field when I return from my mission. I have four siblings. I have a very large extensive family, 74 first cousins. I enjoy any kind of physical activity. I love to play football. I would like to learn how to sing. I would also like to learn how to ball room dance. I want to travel the world and try all the different types of food. I enjoy learning new things. I love to read, especially the Book Of Mormon. My life isn't perfect and I have problems just like everyone does, but I love my life and the challenges it brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, all of my family are active members and most of my extended family. I have over 50 first cousins on my mother's side, and all of my boy cousins have served missions. When I was younger I think it is safe to say I lived off of my parents testimonies. I have always believed in the church, it just made sense in my mind. I never questioned the story of Joseph Smith because it just felt right. Three years ago however, while I was in seminary(an early morning church class) I got the feeling that I needed to really know for myself if the church was true or not. I wasn't perfect at it but I made and effort to read my scriptures every day and pray to know if what I was reading was true. I don't have an amazing conversion story where I was struck by lightning or saw a vision. My conversion has come over time. The feelings I get when I read the scriptures and testify of its truthfulness are how I know the church is true. When I read Joseph Smith's History and testify to others that I know young Joseph saw God the Father and Jesus Christ I know its true. I have taken Moroni's promise to the test and can honestly say that it works. If you want to know if the church is true, read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true. He will tell you.

How I live my faith

In the past I have been the leader of the group of boys my age and have helped organize scouting trips, and many young men activities. My favorite activities have been those where we are able to go to the LA Temple and either see the Christmas lights, go to the visitors center, or do baptisms for the dead. Now that I older I enjoy doing Temple work for those who have passed on and cannot do it for themselves. I am often called to teach the primary children on Sundays. It is wonderful to see and feel the sweet spirits of those little children as they learn and understand doctrine and teachings of the church.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is the best thing ever. Whenever you are feeling down you just remember that there is a God who loves you and wants the best for you. When I choose the right I am happy because I know thats what God wants me to do. When you are happy you have so many others to share that with. I can't imagine how sad and hopeless my life would be if I wasn't a Mormon. Show more Show less
