Hi I'm Chaz Egnew

I'm a missionary, I love Disney movies and other movies too, tv shows...so yes I'm a nerd. I play the ocarina. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi, I'm Chaz. I'm serving as a missionary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the San Diego California area. I love my family. I love Disney movies, video games, food (especially desserts), and my favorite candy is crystallized ginger. I like to write, bake, act, dance, and play music. Like I said I'm a geek and I love movies and video games. I really like to play music from Kingdom Hearts and Legend of Zelda video game series. And I hope to do something with theater.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've decided to be. I've grown up in the Church. There have been some times when it was hard to go to church. But I kept going. I kept going not just because my parents made me, but because I knew that the Lord wanted me to do the right thing. It's been tough, but because I made that decision to live my faith, and to follow Jesus Christ I've been blessed by His gospel. Another huge reason that I'm a Mormon happened just before my 17th birthday. In short my whole world changed. A sudden move, a split in the family, and finally my dad committing suicide rocked my world. Things were crazy. Thankfully, I had the gospel to rely on. I know that Jesus Christ is a real being and that the Atonement He made helps us all. Without the church, the Book of Mormon, or Jesus Christ in my life I know I would not be who I am today. I know that Jesus Christ helps us in our trials and He helps us change. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, knows us His children and loves us infinitely. He wants us to return to live with Him. I've felt His love many times, and I've seen His hand influencing my life. I know that the Church is true and that God is the one directing it. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. I know that there is a prophet on the Earth today. I know that the Joseph Smith was a prophet, and through him God restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And I know that Jesus Christ, my Redeemer, lives and because of Him we can be transformed from who we were to who we need to be.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm a missionary. So I go out teaching people about God and Jesus Christ. The fact that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored has influenced my life A LOT! I want to share that with other people because I know what happiness comes from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God hears our prayers and I know that he helps us. I've also worked with the young single adults and planned activities for them. I've taught the younger kids in the church for a little while, and now I'm a missionary. It's pretty cool how many opportunities that I've had to serve and the blessings that have come from that service. Especially when you see other people come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Their lives change and then they just start to glow! It's awesome!

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Chaz Egnew
After we die, that´s not it. There is so much more after we die. Our bodies and spirits are separate, and so we are separate from the world we knew. But, there we will learn and continue to grow in ways that we couldn´t in the life before. Here we will wait in the spirit world until our bodies and spirits are reunited forever. Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Chaz Egnew
You bet we do! The Bible is awesome! The tales and prohpecies contained in it witness of Christ and by following them you can come closer to God and Christ. The Bible let´s us see the love that God has for His children from the beginning of time. It is precious and invites the Holy Ghost to witness to you the reality of God and Jesus Christ. On top of the Bible, not replacing it, we have the Book of Mormon. Like the Bible it´s a record of an ancient people and their writings about Christ. Just like the Bible the Book of Mormon will bring you closer to Christ as you read it and pray about it. Show more Show less
