Hi I'm Casey

I found my husband and the Church playing World of Warcraft online. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I still play World of Warcraft together while we are not busy with our two little ones! I also try to find time to crochet, knit, sew, and any other forms of stitching I can get my hands on. I love hand-made items for my home and to give as gifts. I also love reading blogs, I enjoy feeling connected to others via online media sources since my family is now far away. Without the internet I wouldn't be able to see my family via webcam, I wouldn't have found my husband and I wouldn't have found the truth of the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I met my husband playing World of Warcraft online while I was a senior in college. He introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a short time later I was baptized. We met in person six months later and six months after that we were married. We have now been married for nearly 4 years and have two beautiful children. I was first interested in my husband because he was different. Noticeably different. The thing that made him different from anyone else I had ever met was the Gospel of Jesus Christ in his life. He actually served his two year mission in the area I was going to college in! What a coincidence! Once I met with the sister missionaries they gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon and asked me to watch a short video explaining the Restoration of the Church and Joseph Smith's role in that. That's when I knew. I was alone when I watched it and I prayed to know the truth. I began reading the Book of Mormon and was filled with the Spirit of the Lord confirming it's truth. There is no way a farm boy wrote that. If the Book of Mormon was true scripture then Joseph Smith was telling the truth of the book's origins, and if that was true then he really met with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in New York in the 1800s. I know this is the one true Gospel and the one true Church. I asked Heavenly Father if this was true and right and he more than answered my prayers. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given." James 1:5 God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His Church is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

How I live my faith

I am a stay-at-home mom so it is a treat to be apart of a family in our area through our Church. I am responsible for calling sisters in our ward each month to check and see how they are doing. This is a part of the organization known as Visiting Teaching. Each sister has a partner and each month they are asked to visit several sisters to bring friendship and support to every sister and family. If there is any need in a family that is too big for the the Visiting Teachers they pass it to me and I pass it to my leader and thus needs are met and families are taken care of. The way the Church is organized speaks to me of it's divine origins. We are truly one family, all children of the same loving Heavenly Father.
