Hi I'm Alleen

I grew up in Mexico. I love racquetball, learning, and my friends. I´m a Mormon!

About Me

I´m studying Human Biology at a University. I love trying almost anything once! I love the outdoors. Being out in nature and away from the world helps me feel peace and God´s love. My favorite sport is raquetball. I also love to cook and eat delicious food! One day I hope to see the northern lights and complete an ironman. I absolutely love to read. Some of my favorite books (at the moment) are ¨The Count of Monte Cristo¨(adventure), "When Crickets Cry" (tearjerker) and anything written by CS Lewis.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me hope. I have hope for what comes after this life. I have hope that all the stupid things I've done in life can be erased. I have hope that when I am lonely or down, I can be comforted. I have hope that I can be with my family, forever. Not just "till death do you part". I have hope that I can change, and every day be a better person than I was yesturday. I have hope that I can live with my Savior Jesus Christ one day.

How I live my faith

Lots of times I am called to serve in the music for our church meetings. I have done everything from playing organ and piano, to leading the congregation in hymns, to directing the choir or special musical numbers. My favorite way to live my faith is in acts of service. I have spent hundreds of hours of volunteer time- from picking chili (profits go towards higher education funds) to cleaning up or fixing up the community (a memorable project was helping an eagle scout fix speed bumps) to teaching others what I know about Jesus Christ, or just spending one on one time with someone else, getting to know and love them better.

What is being a Mormon like?

Alleen
Being a Mormon is hard!, -because it creates in you the desire to always be better. You are trying to learn and grow and be the best person you possibly can! However, it is ABSOLUTELY rewarding!!! You team up with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and through their grace you become better each day! In the Bible Christ commands us to be perfect, even as He is. Because of my beliefs and God's help I know I will make it one day :). Show more Show less
