Hi I'm Linda

I was born in Keene, New Hampshire, I moved to Idaho as a youth. I was a stay at home mom. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in New Hampshire, as a young child I joined the church along with my mother and four of eleven siblings. My mother started writing to a gentleman in Idaho, which the senior missionary couple had introduced her to. He sent the money for my mother and her five children remaining at home to come to Idaho. One of my sisters got married instead coming with us. So my mother and four of us came to Idaho on a train, it took us 3 days. Quite the adventure. I was the youngest at the age of eight. The man that sent the money for us to come to Idaho soon became my father. I could not have asked for a better dad, nor my mother a better husband. She often said her life didn't start until she came to Idaho. From that time until I hit eighteen I was active in the church. However as I left home, I chose another pathway in life. I fell into inactivity and made many wrong choices. I wasted many years denying my desire and need for my Heavenly Father in my life. I became fully active at 42, Heavenly Father is very forgiving. My husband & I raised five children, 1 son & 4 daughters. I stayed at home most of that time. When my younger children were older, I worked as a substitute teacher. I also worked with troubled young women in the probation system. I have been widowed for 3 1/2 years. I enjoy music, I love to sing, I like to cook and eat good food, and I love to work in my yard and garden. I enjoy many sports, especially if my grand children are playing them.

Why I am a Mormon

I made many poor choices in my life, always in the back of my mind [God loves you, go back], My mother came to live with us.My home teacher saw me struggling and said(your mother will be more of a blessing than a burden in your life).I'm not sure I bought that but it sounded nice. I knew mom would like to have her temple recommend and I was in charge.I took her to church and paid her tithing.I became more aware of the blessings of the spirit. I started reading my scriptures learning & praying for peace in my life. My prayers were answered. I became active. I went to the temple on my mom and dad's anniversary and was sealed to them, What a blessing my mom was in my life. My home teacher surely knew what he was talking about. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God that he saw God the father and his son Jesus Christ. That he restored the church of Christ on the earth. That he translated the Book of Mormon from ancient script as another testament of the life of Christ as our Savior .That we as people will live more correctly if we follow it's teachings We have a living prophet on the earth today even,Thomas S. Monson. What wonderful gifts wait for us if we let God help. I bare witness of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That (He) lived that (He) died for our sins and rose again on the third day and is living today. (He) is the loving savior of the entire world and is our Savior if we allow him to be. Of this I testify in the Holy name of Jesus Christ amen

How I live my faith

I have been active in our community, Helping our local high school get a track. I help in our church's women's program teaching, visiting the women in need of spiritual and /or temporal support. I've worked in the youth program of our church as a teacher and camp director. Teaching organization, camping skills, skits, songs, snacks, encouraging their love for one another and reverence for their Heavenly Father and the awesome world he has created. Recognizing His hand in all things and their role of being a good stewart over the land and themselves. To realize how precious and wonderful they are to their Heavenly Father. I have worked with young women who made some wrong choices and were in need of guidance. I worked with these young ladies, in a court setting. I coordinated community service projects for these young women, to help them see a better way for them to be know by, in the community, as a helper, a worker, a force for good in the community. Some learned well and some did not. Either way it was a very rewarding experience for me to work with these young people. If I was able to help even one of them to live a better life for themselves, I am very grateful. I have done many things in my life, however none can compare with the joy and sorrow my work as a loving wife, parent and grandparent have brought me.
