Hi I'm Ethan Farnworth

I'm a jazz musician, pianist, swimmer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a college student studying music performance focusing on jazz. I love to swim and I feel most comfortable in the water. Sometimes a smaller hobbie of mine is to go camping in Buete Medows in California. I am a city guy with a passion for the mountains. Sometimes I go for a bike ride to get away from everything. I don't always know where I am going but I don't mind that. This is life, and we are meant to enjoy it. I currently serve a full time mission for the Church in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

So I would have to say I am a Mormon becuase of the comfort I have felt in studying the gospel and the principles taught. I have been a member basically my whole life, but for ahwile I wasn't really into it like I am now. It took me three years to really see what was so great about this church. I realized that what I love the most is the simplicity of it all. We are taught to be as a little child and to come unto Christ. Well, to be able to do that we must first be like a little child and that means even they need to understand what is taught. This gospel, is a beautiful thing. It does truly bring a man closer to God by abiding to it's teachings. I know that this is true. However it didn't come to me just over night. It took me awhile. I know that I have made the right choice and that I am eternally grateful for the choice to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In church I am the primary and choir pianist. It is fun to just be able to voice my feelings to the Lord through music. I think the reason I feel that way is because most of the music in todays world just has a negative conotation to many of the things that I feel to be true. So church music actually gives me a place of solitude in myself. It is an interesting experience to help organize activities like short potlucks before a meeting or activities and help set up games and activities with the youth group back home. It helps me feel like I am being of service to my fellow man and in that way being of service to my God.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Ethan Farnworth
The Book of Mormon is exactly what it says on the cover, "Another testament of Jesus Christ." The Book of Mormon is a compilation of testimony, prophesy, and writings of prophets here on the American continent. All through it, they testify about the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The crowning event of the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of Christ to the people there. At the end of it, the final prophet exhorts, or encourages us to, read the record and then ask God, in the name of Christ, if the record is true. Show more Show less
