Hi I'm David G.

I grew up in Bountiful Utah. I ride my mountain bike, Fly planes, and I am proud to be a Mormon

About Me

I love to ride my bike in the rocky mountains! If i could, i would mountain bike every day with my friends. However, i cant do that because i need time to fly R/C planes. I own and fly a GWS Slowstick. I love to fly because its is a time i spend with my dad doing what we love. I own and operate my own lawn care business here in the neighborhood. I have had this business for approx. 5 years. I recently graduated in 2012 and am so excited to go on my mission to Santa Rosa California in December. I love spending time with my friends and family. I do not know what i would do without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i have such a strong belief in Jesus Christ and his teachings. All though the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and the Bible, are stories and teaching of Jesus. I am so amazed by the faith of these people in the scriptures. One of my favorite stories is about the 2000 young men (Stripling Warriors) who fought for their faith and people. They had faith in the Lord and knew that if they had faith, the Lord would deliver them out of the hands of their enemies. None of them died in battle even though they were out numbered. Another story that strengthens my testimony of Jesus Christ is the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehi or the People Of Ammon. They made a covenant with God that they would not fight and shed the blood of another man. Even with an army on their way to fight, they stuck true to their covenants with God. they buried their swords and let the enemy strike them down. The Faith of Both the Stripling Wariors and the People of Ammon is amazing to me. Recently i was able to participate in a reenactment of the 2000 Stripling Warriors durring our 24th of July parade. The spirit was so strong as we represented these Warriors. We marched miles down main street. Every 5 min or so, we would stop, smash down our hiking sticks, and yell, "We did not doubt!" I am so grateful i had that experience because the spirit was there and testified to me that this is true. I have had countless experiences where i became over whelmed with the spirit. I know that this, The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints is the true church and i can not wait to teach the people of Santa Rosa the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others. I have a responsibility as the Jr. Assistant Scout Master in my ward. I help the 12-14 year old scouts on their camp outs, merit badges, and other scouting activities. I also live my faith by my willingness to serve a mission. I enter the Provo MTC in December of 2012 to learn more about how to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will be serving in the California Santa Rosa mission to help others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. I live my faith by teaching other families in the area the messages contained in the Ensign.
