Hi I'm Sam

I was born and raised in Colorado USA. I'm a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently retired from my career in Facilities Management and I am enjoying being able to spend more time on things that matter to me. My wife has recently retired as well and it is wonderful to spend time together. I have played piano for many years, but since retiring I have spent a lot of time learning the guitar. So far I enjoy playing a lot more than others enjoy listening, but it is a fun hobby for me. The area we live in is surrounded by mountains and I enjoy them very much. As I think about all the things that I enjoy I have to say I have loved being a husband and father most. While we were involved in the everyday hassles of raising children there were days that at the time I didn't appreciate as much as I could have. But looking back I wouldn't give up those experiences for anything. Our family is growing with the addition of a beautiful grand daughter so we have a new family member to love. I guess the bottom line is -I enjoy my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the things I am taught are true. There are so many things in the world we live in that seem to contradict the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that is why I had to put to the test the promises God has made that if I really wanted to know for myself I had to sincerely pray for guidance and confirmation. I have studied the scriptures and doctrines of the church and I have asked God in prayer if they are true and I can say I know they are true. I no longer have to wonder if God lives because I know He does. I know that Jesus Christ lives and is my personal savior. I know the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I also know that God loves all of us and that He will answer the sincere prayers of any of His children no matter who or where they are. It is comforting to me to know there are answers to all my questions.

How I live my faith

I have been a Mormon all my life and I have had many wonderful experiences serving in the church in many different ways. When I was young I had the opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary in Bolivia South America, which has blessed my life in many ways. I currently am serving in the presidency of a local Spanish language branch. It is wonderful to be able to serve these great people who are trying so hard to make a better life for themselves and their families as well as doing their best to become better christian people. I have been blessed to serve in local leadership callings where we oversaw and helped organize youth and adult programs that I believe helped others live more productive and happier lives.
