Hi I'm Matt Gremillion

I was born an raised in Colorado Springs. Love everything about sports. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado. I am a big sports fan, I love basketball and football, swimming, etc, and I love the Nuggets and the Broncos. I also like to climb fourteeners and do outdoor activities like camping and white water rafting. Nothing makes me happier or brings me more peace than being on top of a mountain. Knowing that I had to push through all of that to get to that point and the amazing feeling you get while on top, there is nothing better. It shows that the greatest rewards come after some of the hardest work. Thats why I am going on a mission and I cant wait to teach others what I know. I know that by doing so, I will be able to (following the analogy) reach the top and feel the joy that can come from helping others come with me. I will go to college after my mission, probably BYU and then the U of U, and am thinking of pursuing a career in medicine (most likely orthopedics or something).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, so I have been LDS my entire life. I have seen it effect me in many positive ways, as I have tried to live what I have been taught. I have remained healthy and have seen many other physical blessings from being a Mormon. I also know that Jesus was the Christ, Joseph Smith was a prophet, and the the Book of Mormon is true, so with these three alone, I know that being a Mormon is the right thing. One of my favorite analogies with regards to Christ and His Gospel, is light. I love the fact that the scriptures talk so much about how this Gospel can bring people out of the dark, out of those feelings of despair. Christ is the light and as we follow Him, we will be blessed... and I have been blessed, in so many ways. I know that this Gospel helps people in so many ways, and that is why I am on a mission to share that.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life, I have strived to go to church and do the right thing. Of course, I have never been perfect or close at times, and that is why our faith is so great. No matter what someone does wrong, no matter how lost they may seem, they will be able to come back. Through the Saviors sacrifice and our diligence to follow what he did and said, he can Redeem us, or pay for the things that we did wrong. That is how I live my faith, by constantly trying to improve so that I can have the mercy that Christ can give all of us. I am also serving a in the California Irvine Mission and am helping others in any way I can. It has been one of the greatest decisions Ive ever made.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Matt Gremillion
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a continuation of Gods church that has been on the earth since it was formed. This is one of my favorite parts about the church, is its claim to be the restored church of Jesus Christ. After Christ was killed and his apostles died, the world was in a state of apostasy, or lack of Gods church on earth. Many good men saw some of the things that were wrong in the previous religions, but this only brought a reformation or a change of the doctrine already present. These men were definitely inspired though, as they paved the way to what would happen. In 1820, 44 years after the creation of the only country with religious freedoms (based off of the reformed religions that were made seeking for religious freedoms) a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith was wondering which one of these churches was correct. After he was done praying, he saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. After this, Christ told him to join none of these churches, because they were not correct, but that the original church would be restored. Restored is the key word. Instead of reforming something that was already there, the church of Christ was restored, or brought back, to the earth. The fulness of Christs church was brought back to the earth and with this bold claim comes a bold promise. Those who read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it's true will come to know that this church is true. Thats where it all started. Show more Show less
