Hi I'm Ryan Garlick

I'm from LasVegas, I like long walks around the Temple, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Ryan Garlick. I have lived in Nevada most of my life. I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and am eternally grateful to my parents for raising me in the Church and for there love. I enjoy playing music and creating. I love playing games, drawing and creating worlds. I am currently serving in the Maryland Baltimore Mission and it has changed my life! I plan on attending BYU-I when I return home from my mission for a degree in Computer Science. I am the 4th of 8 kids in my family and wouldn't have it any other way. My family is so amazing and I am so happy to be able to be with them for life and all eternity. I love music, computers, puzzles, my family, my mission, sharing the Gospel, and my Father in Heaven and, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the tender feelings of the Holy Ghost testify to me time and time again that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that we can receive revelation just as the prophets of old. It all started the first time I really felt the Holy Ghost testify to me. I was going to institute and at the end of the class the teacher said "The Gospel is..." and the class responded "True!" and I felt the Spirit in that moment. It was like a rush of water came over my entire body and I was filled with light. I feel it now as I write this. Through that feeling I was able to come to a knowledge that I have known this to be true for a long time. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fullness and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's restored church. I love the gospel so much and want everyone to have the chance to learn of it and the joy that comes with it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving at every chance I can. I love to help people whenever possible. I'm a currently serving as a full-time missionary in Maryland.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Ryan Garlick
The Book of Mormon is a compilation of records that prophets in America kept. The book is called the Book of Mormon because Mormon was the prophet that was assigned by God to take a large amount of records and place them on smaller 'plates'. The book concludes with Mormon's son, Moroni, promising that anyone that reads the Book of Mormon with real intent, having faith in Christ, and pray to our Father in Heaven to know that if it is true, WILL recieve an answer through the Holy Ghost that it is true. Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Ryan Garlick
We preform baptism on behalf of the deceased because we believe baptism is a saving ordinance and everyone must have a chance to be baptized as a member of Christ Church to "enter the gateway of Heavenly Fathers Kingdom" By preforming baptisms for the dead we give them a chance to accept the ordinance. It shows the love that Heavenly Father has for His children and how he doesnt want a single one of them to be lost. Show more Show less
