Hi I'm Bobby Holder

I am a desert dweller, a pea coat lover, a crowd surfer, I love me some zombies, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I tend to say the absolute wrong things at exactly the right times. I am a missionary. I do missionary things and I live a missionary life. Currently, my hair is not long and dyed black like I would prefer, it's short and I use lots of gel to successfully rock the side part, and believe me, I rock it. ^_^ New Mexico is my home and the desert has my heart. Among the thousands I too love and appreciate what music does to the soul. I claim the Post Hardcore and Scream-o/Emo scenes, but I have a great appreciation for slowing down and listening to ambient tunes. I try not to be too cliche with the music that I listen to, so I've typically avoided the radio for most of my life. I love laughing. I believe that laughter is the best way to drown out the worries and stresses that come with life. I'd like to say that I'm on the verge of finding the healthy balance of being serious when I need to be and laughing enough so that I will have a good amount of wrinkles when I'm old.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was raised in the church but for quite a while I was pretty sure that it wasn't true. I could go into all the reasons I was an angsty teenager growing up... but the number one reason could be traced to the lack of a relationship that I had with my Heavenly Father. I really don't want this to be lengthy, so I'll just cut to the chase. I was pretty miserable growing up, teenagers are a pretty delicate creature to begin with. In my despair of life (I'm only trying to be slightly sarcastic) I was out venturing ways that I could be happy, especially when I was out on my own in college. I've realized that a person needs God regardless of who/where they are. The question is "Why am I a Mormon?" We teach to change, to shirk the natural man, to become a new creature. These concepts are so beautifully taught in the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I believe that people have the capacity to change. I'm a Mormon because I am preparing to meet Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Well currently, it's through the form of missionary service. I live my faith as best as I can by helping others come to know that the gospel and the church are true. By developing Christ-like attributes I know that we can live our faith to the fullest, who better to follow than the Savior himself?!
