Hi I'm Samantha

I'm a Public Relations student from South Carolina who loves basketball, family & friends.

About Me

I am a Public Relations student at Brigham Young University. I was born in Arizona, but lived most of my life in South Carolina. I view myself as a southern girl who loves basketball, music, and spending time with my family and friends. I have two brothers, an adopted sister, brother-in-law, and a sweet baby niece who is my pride and joy. Because I've moved around and lived in 7 different states, I've found comfort in my family and am so grateful for my relationship with them! I have so many great friends and have no idea what I would do without them.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born as a member of the church, it has always been a choice for me to remain active. Both of my parents are converts to the church as my father grew up Methodist and my mother, Mexican Catholic. The joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me is indescribable. It is such a comfort to know who I am, who I was before this life, and where I am going when I die. I love that through the gospel of Christ, I can live with my family for time and all eternity. I have experienced opposition and trials because of my religion, but I am not ashamed. The joy that I receive in living a healthy, clean, and happy life gives me all the comfort I need. I know that I can always rely on the Lord for comfort in hard times. Everything that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ brings me, has made me the person I am today. There is not a thing I wouldn't sacrifice for the Lord and I am so grateful for the assurance that this gospel brings me.

How I live my faith

I go to three hours of church meetings every Sunday as well as attend different events throughout the week. I am actively involved in creating and maintaining relationships between the ladies in my ward and I find so much joy in it. During the summers, I am a youth camp counselor and help kids ages 14-18 learn relationship skills and how to grow closer to Jesus Christ. Aside from the weekly church scene, I live my religion by always watching what I do. I try to love my neighbor and I choose to live a clean, moral life. I love my role as a woman in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely. The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ is in the name. There is nothing I believe in more than my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He atoned for my sins to satisfy the demands of justice and mercy. He took upon our sins, pains, regrets, and sorrows so he could be there with us every step of the journey. We can only live in Heaven with God and our families through Jesus Christ. He is the rock of our salvation. There is nothing I believe more than this. Jesus Christ is our Savior, older brother, and the Redeemer of our souls. Show more Show less
