Hi I'm Spencer

I am a desert rat from Mesa, Arizona. I enjoy hiking. I am a missionary in the New Hampshire Manchester mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young man from Mesa, Arizona who grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. I enjoy playing all kinds of sports including volleyball, basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, and horseshoes. My favorite hobby is hiking through the Arizona Desert with my Dad and going on Moonlight hikes with my family. I have 8 siblings and awesome parents. My family is one of the most important things to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the church, I too have a conversion story. You see, when I was younger, I had a little baby brother who was born with some heart defects, as well as Down's Syndrome. Soon after his birth, he passed from this world to the next. I was destroyed by the event of my brother passing. He was to be my baby brother. The boy I taught baseball. The boy I would teach to shoot hoops. However, these dreams died with his death. I blamed God every day when I would see my mother cry at even the mention of him. Why would God do this to me? Was there even a God? I was lost in my misery when, my mother pulled me aside and told me a beautiful truth: Eric, my baby brother, was not lost to us and we would have the chance to raise him in the world to come. My brother is not lost to me and he is now sitting in the lap of Jesus Christ just waiting for me to return to both their sides. Why am I a Mormon? For the simple reason is that it gives me Joy. There is nothing in this world that makes me happier than the knowledge that I will return to live with God and Jesus Christ with my entire family. This brings me joy and is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I often try to show charity to those around me. I serve two elderly families by coming to their house and find out what is going on in their lives. I talk with them and then I seek to find ways to help them. I enjoy telling people that I am a Mormon and tell them about my religion. I enjoy listening to others explain their beliefs and then telling them about my religion. I am also currently serving a mission in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission and this allows me to focus for two years on helping those I meet draw closer to the Savior.
