Hi I'm Skyler Child

I was a swimmer all four years of high school. I love music. Guess what I am. Yup. Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school graduate working my way toward the career of being an anesthesiologist. I swam in high school all four years and was captain of the team my senior year. I enjoy going on bike rides with my dad whenever i get the chance. During the winter months I like to go up in the mountains and snowboard with friends and family. During the summer months I love to get out on the boat and go swimming, tubing, and wakeboarding. I have a dog that is the best to play hide and seek with and is amazing at wheel barrow races. I have been a lifeguard for the past three years and have had a job working at Chick-fil-a. I am an eagle scout. I love spending time with my dog, brother, mom, and dad. My family helps me through hard times in my life and I love them all very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for a fact that this is the true church. I have read the Book of Mormon and I have felt the Holy Ghost tell me that the book and all of the writings are true. I know that there is a prophet today and that he is God's mouthpiece. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I know that if he called prophets in the days previous that he would call prophets for today. I know that revelation exists today as it did in the scriptures. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that he suffered for the sins of the world. I know that because of His Atonement, I can return to live with Him again. Families can be together forever because of the Atonement. I know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are separate beings that are one in purpose. I know that through prayer I can communicate with my Heavenly Father and ask Him if something is true or not. The Holy Ghost testifies to me when something is true and I have asked about this church, and there is no doubt in my mind that it is the true church. I have a testimony that if you ask Him if something is true with true intent of heart, you will surely get an answer. I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church and that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children equally and deeply. I testify that if you are reading this that Heavenly Father loves you and that you are one of His children. He loves you more than you can imagine and He wants the very best for you. Most of all, He wants you to return to live with Him again and I promise that if you seek Him out and ask Him whether this church is true, you will receive an answer. I say these things in the name of my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and am always learning more and more. Although I am not very old, I still manage to help out my fellow church members by visiting members' homes and teaching them on a monthly basis. The biggest way that I am contributing is by my choosing to serve an LDS mission. A Mormon Missionary as some call us. In my particular case I have been called to serve in California. Like many male missionaries I have been called to serve for a period of 24 months, or two years. As a missionary I will help others to understand my faith as well as serve those who are in need of my service. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Skyler Child
Pray to know if Mormonism is true. You will know by the way that you feel. The Holy Ghost testifies truthfulness in way of feelings of peace and comfort. I personally feel happy when I feel the spirit and sometimes it is strong enough that I begin to cry. You do not need to cry to know that the Holy Ghost is testifying truth unto you. Just pay attention to the way that you feel and you will know whether you are being testified to or not. Show more Show less
