Hi I'm Amanda

I love music and the outdoors. I'm serving a mission in New York. I'm a mormon!

About Me

I am passionate about life and I love being busy. My family lives in the US and Australia. I am studying to be a nurse in college. The human body fascinates me. I love hiking, running, skiing, frisbee, simply being outside! I love being social and have a blast when I'm with roommates and family. I love to play the piano, guitar, sing, and listen to all genres of music. I have been working as a gardener and like to work hard and get dirty. I love the smell of pine trees, waffle cones, and camp fire. I hope to study alternative medicine and help make health care accessible and locally sustained in underdeveloped regions around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

My decision to be a Latter-Day Saint is rather simple. It makes me happy! It brings me peace and answers. I understand who I am and what my purpose is. I feel the love of God as I commune with Him and follow the principles of my faith. It helps shape my life so I can avoid costly and heartbreaking mistakes that are available in this world. It gives me so much joy to know that I will live with those I love after we pass from this life. That Jesus Christ came and died for me is the single greatest motivator in my life. He allows me a chance for change. I can continually improve the person that I am and leave the old mistakes behind me. The gospel is freeing and filled with hope. I am full of potential and worth and I know those truths because of my knowledge of God!

How I live my faith

My faith is the central theme of my life. I keep my relationship with God at the forefront of my decisions and interactions with others. I love people. I try to always see them as children of our Heavenly Father. I love teaching about the gospel to all ages. In church I teach youth and women. Attending church is a huge relief every week as the example of others help to strengthen to my faith and I find solace from the cares of the week. This gospel is all about service. I find such joy in being able to see the needs of those in my community and help in any way I can. Most of the time those opportunities are spiritual and social. Everyone needs a friend and to know that they are cared for. I also receive such care and appreciation from members of my ward. Many times, however, those opporunities are physical such as food, shelter, and clothing. True faith is shown through action and interaction. I hope that my life will more often than not reflect the example of Jesus Christ.
