Hi I'm Dixie J. Kirkwood

I was born and raised in Southern Alberta, Canada. I'm a Mormon. Served two years in France as a missionary.

About Me

I grew up on a farm, the youngest of 14 children. Love baskeball and watching my grandchildren participate in sports. I have hand-quilted many, many quillts. I also love knitting and crocheting. Books and good music are a daily part of my life. My family is always number one for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born Mormon and simply followed the teachings of my parents and family. I was very active in our youth groups and participated in all church activities. I always felt that our Church was special, but it wasn't until I was little older and read my ancestors stories about their conversions that I actually decided to determine for myself if it was true. I decided to go on a Mission. I was called to the Paris France mission. I am very shy and I was so grateful that I could hide behind the language. In reading, studying and praying, I received a firm testimony of the truthfulnes of the gospel. As I look at the other churches and organizations, I ask myself do they have anything better to offer. The answer aways comes back "No". If we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can't go wrong.

How I live my faith

I am currenly teaching young children in our church every Sunday. I have previously been President of this youth group in rwo different cities. I have also served in leadership and teaching postions in our women's organization. I have helped organize and staff these groups. I seved for two years as a misionary for our church in areas around Paris, France. I have worked several years in the Boy Scouts of America. I have 3 sons who attained the rankof Eagle Scout, and a daughter who is the pastors wife.
