Hi I'm Brandon

I like to play sports, make friends, and enjoy life. I love my family and go wherever they go. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Air Force Brat, that has moved around with my family to North Dakota, California, Colorado, Virginia, and have made the trip across the pond to Spain. I love to run, play sports, or read a good book to pass the time. I play the piano a bit, and definitely appreciate those who can really play and make it look so easy. I love to make friends. I feel that there are so many great people in this world, with so many cool stories and experiences, that I want to try and meet them all. Since I'm falling hopelessly short, I just try to leave a positive impact on as many people as I can, and also try to stay in touch with those fantastic people in their lives. Family is the most important to me. I took me until my first year at college to really notice how much I miss them, and what great friends and support they are to me. I connect with each of them in different ways, but treasure each one of them. I also love my extended family, as I have developed relationships with grandparents and cousins, it really grows my comfort zone, and I feel like I have someone I can turn to no matter where I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what it has done for me. While I grew up in the church, I had the opportunity to learn and grow from a very early age. However, as I have grown, I have learned of the truth of the gospel and it has made an important change in my life. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each and every one of us. I know that Christ would have gone through the agony of the atonement and crucifixion, just for me, if I was the only in-perfect person. I know that when we pray, we can receive an answer, just as the young prophet Joseph Smith did. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It is a powerful record of the people in the Americas, and of their story. It goes hand-in-hand with the Bible, and contains the fullness of the Gospel. I know that as we learn and grow, develop our faith in Christ and repent, that we can enter into sacred ordinances and covenants that we may one day live with our Father in Heaven again. I'm a Mormon, because it gives me joy. I look around in my life, and find that the truly happiest people are those that are serving, and choosing the right. I want to be like that, and this Gospel continues to teach me new ways in which I can do this.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my example. I try to show, whether I am at school, church or home, how I live my standards, and what being a Mormon means. I love to show it through my smile, my happiness and the joy I receive from it. I also stay involved at church. In my time as a teenager, I have had many different opportunities to plan activities for other teenagers and leaders. I've had the chance to provide music in meetings through playing the piano, and also have learned about teaching, through opportunities to teach classes. I have the opportunity to visit members in our congregation each month, to check up on how they are doing with their daily activities, and to see if they need help. Through these visits, I have made some true life-long friends that I hold dear. Spain has provided me many opportunities to also reach out and learn about other religions, while sharing my own beliefs. I have the fantastic opportunity to go on a two year Mormon Mission to the great country of Brazil. I will learn Portuguese and have the great opportunity to share the gospel with the wonderful people there.
