Hi I'm Sam

I grew up in California. I'm serving a Spanish speaking mission in Pocatello, Idaho for my church. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up with a loving family and a good group of friends. I love my relationships with them and with God and my religion. I love music and would want to pursue it somewhat when I get back from my mission. I'm currently taking a few classes at my community college but i will be stopping education for two years for my mission. When I get back I want to go to school in California, Utah, or Washington and study Psychology. I love to read classic literature and to be around beautiful scenery. Performing music, having fun with anybody, and learning of Christ and great people are things that make me especially happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can't deny to myself that the things that I've learned in the church are true. The feeling I get when I hear or read something that testifies truth and God's love consumes me and leaves me in happiness and desire to know more. I've seen the joys of the atonement in my life and what kind of happiness i can get when i keep the commandments. Which is the best! I've gained a sure belief in the truth of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith as its instrument in bringing it about for our eternal benefit. I also know Joseph Smith was able to receive direct revelation from God for everyone and to this day Thomas S. Monson, the president of our church, does the same thing. I'm so grateful for the modern day counsel I learn and for the men and women that are called in the church that can specifically help me be a better person. I'm grateful for God's ever engrossing teachings in which I'm able to live free and joyful, and it gives me a higher purpose in all the decisions i make. This gospel shows me that God is existent in every aspect of my life and because I'm a member I can receive that blessings that come along with keeping Him and his plan as my focus.

How I live my faith

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents did an amazing job of teaching me the principles and happiness that comes with being a Mormon. I decided to be baptized when I was 8 years old and since then my belief in the church has grown more and more. Through this I've been motivated to participate in my duties in the church and to keep the commandments that God has given me. Ive received the priesthood and will soon go into the temple to experience the blessings God has for me and I'll be able to help others receive those blessings in the temple and on my mission. Within my childhood I've been able to hold callings as a leader in my group of young men in the church and have been able to perform priesthood duties and have given service to others through the church. Throughout teenage years, especially, I've put my faith to the test against temptations that surround everyone within public school, groups of friends, and in the home. At times i have not always been perfect and there are some things I've done that are hard for me to acknowledge but through my faith I've been able to use Christ's atonement to repent of my sins and gain a peace in my heart and a resolution to do better which can only be from God's love and tender mercies. I try to learn something new about my faith and live it at all times, and I strive to be an example to those around me. I hope to increase my testimony and my attributes that I've learned from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
