Hi I'm Adrianne Mortensen

I'm from Mesa, Arizona. I love the fine arts and spending time with family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 28 and about to graduate with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I am working with first graders right now and I love it, though not as much as the older grades. It took me a while to finish my degree because I kept taking breaks to go travel! I have lived in China, Uruguay (where I served a year and a half mission for my church) and Mexico. I love people and so it was cool to see how other places are and how other people live and the cultures they participate in. I am very close to my family, they are a huge part of my life! We love the fine arts, all of us have done dance to some extent and have learned to play the piano. Many of us play another instrument, have been in show choirs and have been in theater. We are all friends and can turn to each other- it is great and I feel so blessed by my Heavenly Father to have such a family. I love spending time with friends just talking and doing whatever. I like to mess around in the kitchen, go to fine arts events and experience new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's Church restored to the earth again. I have gained this testimony by careful study and by living the principles of the gospel. I know that when I try to live as gospel teaches me to, life goes better. I don't feel empty or discouraged. My life has purpose. I feel the love my Heavenly Father has for me and that He is pleased with what I am doing. I feel the good about what I am doing and how I am living. I see how living the gospel brings blessings into my life I wouldn't otherwise have. Of course I mess up sometimes, we all do. When this happens, I know that I can repent and become close to my Heavenly Father again. I know that it is true. I know that it is the way to peace and joy in this life and the way to return to our Heavenly Father after this life.

How I live my faith

I attend a congregation for young adult every Sunday who are not married. I teach the women once a month as part of church services. I also have two girls, sisters, that I go to teach once a month. Because I am studying to be a teacher, I love the chance to teach! I had the opportunity a few years ago to serve a mission for my church. I spent about a year and a half in Uruguay ( right under Brazil) learning the language and about the culture, participating in service activities, but mostly sharing my beliefs with the people there. I loved the opportunity to get to know the people there, my brothers and sisters. I love the opportunities I have had to teach especially because the Church of Jesus Christ is something that I love with all my heart and that is such a huge part of me. I love being able to share my feelings about it and talk sincerely about the difference it makes in my life. I love hearing the experiences and beliefs of others. I served a mission
