Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up in Canberra, Australia. I enjoy camping, swimming, salsa and learning about everything.

About Me

I'm serving a mission in the Canada Edmonton mission and I'm loving everyday of it. I love meeting the diversity of God's children on earth and I love helping others find the happiness I've found with having my life centred on Christ. I haven't always had a Christ centred life. Up until recently I've been very agnostic. I didn't deny the existence of a higher power I just didn't care. I've always been very laid back and as a result my attitude to life was just "devil may care", being happy-go-lucky and living day to day. Thinking about a higher power seemed like too much effort, so it didn't worry me. But I've come to realise that if my philosophy was to live day to day, I wanted my days to have meaning to me, to have a purpose. Having a belief in Christ has given me purpose for everyday of my life. Everyday is a new opportunity to serve and uplift others, improve myself and enjoy all the benefits that come with having a physical body on this beautiful Earth our Father in Heaven has created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

So, I've only recently become a believing member in this Church despite having been raised in it. I thought the concept of an invisible God in heaven watching us was a bit obscure. But I also thought that the Big Bang Theory was also pretty obscure so I always kept myself open to both schools of thought. What kept me going to Church in the first place though was the goodness that I found in it. Everyone in my congregation back home was a great example of what it was to be a good person. Just the fact that this Church was just churning out good people was enough to keep me interested. My Young Men's President and my Bishop were pretty sweet. They accepted that I didn't have a testimony but they also recognised that I needed to learn. So they taught me about responsibility, leadership and being kind. Having the example of these people was integral to my gaining a testimony. I came to know for myself that this Church was true after I sincerely prayed for the Lords help and received it in a miraculous manner. I know it doesn't always occur in the same way it did for me, but the method is the same. If you pray about things sincerely I know that the Lord will answer your prayer, in his own time, but he does answer.

How I live my faith

So at the moment, I am living my faith by serving a mission in Canada Edmonton. Serving a mission entails, serving our fellow man, teaching others how they can experience the fullness of joy our Heavenly Father longs for us to have and being an ambassador for our church.
