Hi I'm Camille

I play the harp. I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Harp Performance Major exploring my passion for music. I also have a passion for writing, art, and English. I had a very hard time deciding what my major would be! I am so grateful to be attending a University where I can explore many of my interests. I love pursuing my studies in music and I grow in appreciation for the complexity and ingenuity of music every day. I have enjoyed taking classes outside of the music field as well. I have learned so much from the history, art, philosophy, and other classes I have taken here. I love learning new things and stretching my world outside the classroom through personal research in subjects I enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church leaning on the faith of my parents and my church leaders throughout my childhood. I am so fortunate to have been taught from a young age the words of Christ. However, I could not always rely on the words of others for my belief. For a part of life so essential as religion, I needed a witness of my own. I have read the Book of Mormon, studied the doctrines of the church, and prayed to know if this church is true. I have received an undeniable witness of the truthfulness of this gospel for diligently seeking an answer to the question of faith. To not be a Mormon would be to deny my true feelings and deny myself of the blessings that the gospel brings. My faith makes me a better person. I cannot think of any greater reason to be a member of this church. I know that the gospel can only add to my happiness and my well being and my good character. I am a Mormon because I love Christ and I want to be a part of his fold. I know that Christ directs this church through divine revelation. This is Christ's church restored again on the earth.

How I live my faith

More than any other kind of learning, I am most interested in learning about myself and developing myself into the person I want to become. I believe that the way to learn about and change myself is to turn to my faith. My faith gives me direction and meaning in my life. I know where I come from, why I am here on earth, and where I will go after this life. The teachings of Christ have led me to become a better person. I strive to better myself every day to become a faithful disciple. I am learning how to be a better me, and that is the most rewarding knowledge I have gained. As a music student, I feel strongly about the power of good music. Music is one way the Spirit of the Lord touches my heart and helps my testimony of the Savior grow. Music is a language through which hate can be wiped away, love can be nourished, and hearts can be changed. I enjoy listening to and performing hymns. They bring me peace and comfort and help me to feel the love of God. Though life in college is exciting and enlightening, it is very difficult. I persevere because I know that the knowledge I gain will better me. Each trial I overcome will improve me. I know that I cannot triumph alone and I am grateful for the Lord as my strength. I call on God every day to strengthen, protect, and help me throughout the day. He is there for me no matter how big or small the problem.
