Hi I'm Kathryn May Stonehocker

I'm the mother of nine children, the happy gramma of thirteen, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom, and I love what I do. I have been blessed with nine wonderful children--eight sons and one beautiful daughter. I LOVE being a gramma too, with nine darling grandchildren, and two more on the way. I love to learn new things, find solutions to challenges, make something out of "nothing," sing with my three sisters, homeschool my children, and work from my home offering health solutions to empower people with wellness. The past 22 years have been quite a journey for me, as I have struggled and grown through difficult physical and emotional trials, but with the Lord's help I am coming out on top, and enjoy sharing with others the tools and help I have found along the way. My greatest desire in life is to Lift and Bless those around me--to shine the Light and Hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to make their burdens lighter.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church, restored to the earth in its fullness. I don't remember a time when I didn't know the church was true, and that doesn't mean I just took my parents or church leaders word for it. I have just known, to my very core that this is Christ's church on the earth, and that He has a Plan for me and for all of His children. I have read the Book of Mormon, the Old and New Testaments, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, and have had witness from the Holy Ghost of their truthfulness. They were written by God's prophets, ancient and modern, to testify of Christ and to reveal God's Plan for His children. I know that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and our Redeemer, that His great gift to us, His Atonement, is REAL, and that it is for EACH ONE of us to partake of if we choose. I know that this very Christ, the One who suffered for me and for you in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross of Calvary, did indeed appear to the young man, Joseph Smith with His Father, our Eternal Father in Heaven--our God. After much preparation and continued Divine guidance, Joseph Smith was called as a living Prophet of God, and was instructed to restore and organize the Church of Jesus Christ again on the earth. I have profound gratitude for the blessing I have of membership in the restored gospel of Christ, and know for myself that this church has been organized in the same way Christ first established His church on the earth. Not only is it patterned exactly after His church, but He has bestowed the keys and authority of His holy priesthood, the power to act in His name, to His living prophets today. I am a Mormon because I cannot deny the burning testimony in my soul that these things are true. I know God's Plan for us, His children to come to earth, learn to follow Him, and return to live with Him is TRUE. He knows and loves me and YOU!

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for my entire life, and I am so grateful for that profound blessing! I attend church each week with my family, and love worshiping the Lord and feeling the joy and peace the gospel brings as I strive each day to live the way our Father in Heaven has asked us to live in scripture and through His living prophets. I am so grateful as a mother especially, to have the wise and loving guidance of my Father in Heaven as I raise my children. As we live the standards of virtue and goodness we have received from God, I find that my life has purpose, meaning, fulfillment, joy, and a great peace. In a day where there is so much of chaos, heartache and suffering in the world, I am glad to be anchored in my Lord Jesus Christ and in His restored gospel. Because of this, I have answers to otherwise difficult questions, protection from the World, and the pathway to joy is clear. I have served in many different capacities in my church over the years, from teaching children, to organizing events, to cleaning the chapel, to teaching and leading in our women's organization, to playing the piano and singing in the choir. I currently serve as my ward (congregation) organist. When I was asked to serve as organist, I told them that I didn't really know how to play the organ, but that I was willing to learn. Seriously--I didn't even know what the different keyboards were for, or the slightest idea how to do the organ settings. However, as I have prayed for help with this process, I have been greatly blessed beyond my own ability. There have been many Sundays where I was definitely not capable on my own of playing the hymns assigned for that day, but the Lord carried me through and made me equal to the task at hand. It is my goal to attend our temple at least once each week for the sacred worship and Spirit of the Lord we enjoy by serving there. Attending the temple brings added peace and joy to my life.
