Hi I'm Parker

I'm recently graduated high school. I love sports and friends. I'm currently serving a mission in Australia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated high school and have put my normal life on hold for two years to serve a mission in Australia. I'm all ready to start college when I return where I plan to study telecommunications... at least until I figure out my specific career. For now, I'm content playing numerous sports, hanging out with friends, and moving forward with a general education. I lived in Washington for 5 years and I love the Seattle Seahawks! I'm not a big guy so football doesn't usually turn out too well, but I love flag football. My youth team participates in a decent sized flag football league and its heaps of fun! I am the oldest of 5 children. Its nice to finally get out and live on my own but I look forward to returning back to see them. I know that both myself and my family will be blessed for my missionary service.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a faithful family of the church but haven't always been so sure of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe no matter if you are born into the church or come across it later in your life, one way or another, there will be a time in your life when you a forced to decide for yourself whether or not it is true. I know from my own personal experience that through relying on Moroni's promise at the end of the Book of Mormon by reading, pondering, and then praying about the words that this is the fullness of Christ's gospel. It is the same church with the same power and authority as the one that Christ established when he lived on the earth 2000 years ago.

How I live my faith

With the recent change in mission age requirements, I've decided to speed up my plans and am currently serving in Australia at the age of 18. Before my mission, I loved serving in the church and being a good example to my nonmember friends. Now, I have had a chance to meet other people and share the gospel with them. I can really see the positive influence the gospel has had in my life and in the lives of those who are willing to here our message.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

As the name of our church denotes, this is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today. It was founded by Jesus Christ himself. After Jesus Christ and his apostles died, His church was changed and its fullness was lost. But in 1830, the fullness of Jesus Christ's church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith.
