Hi I'm Mike Guido

I am a professional stage performer, comedian, writer, producer, husband, and father. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have raised nine children including four who are adopted and our daugher, Maria, who has severe autism. We now have five beautiful grandchildren too! Everyday is an adventure at our house and we are truly grateful for the teachings of the restored gospel that help us in so many ways every single day. I am a stand-up comedian with eight national TV appearances and a solo stage show, "A Real Man - Dad. Daughter. autism." which tells my story as a dad to a daughter with autism and how she changed me for the better. I like dates with my wife and time with our family, especially at Disneyland where we have season passes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because almost twenty-four years ago I met a young woman who told me about her church and beliefs and then invited me to meet with the missionaries from her church. As I listened to these two young men I immediately felt comfortable with them and I also felt that everything they were telling me was true and it all made perfect sense to me. About a month later I was baptized and I've never looked back. Along with later marrying that young woman, being baptized into The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is the best decision of ever made and has completely changed my life for the better. What anyone chooses to believe is their own personal business, but I would ask you to get a Book Of Mormon and read it. Then ask God if it is true and important. I know that He will let you know just like He did for me. Find the missionaries of the church or members that you may know and ask them to tell you more. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain. I know because I did it and I am so happy because of that one decision in my life.

How I live my faith

In our church our congegations are called "wards" and I consider my ward to be like family. We come together through our shared beliefs and faith, but we also become close through serving together in various capacities. I have had many assignments and responsibilities over the years and each time I have come away with great respect and appreciation for those I serve and for those I serve with. It is a very uniquely awesome situation that I am very grateful for! I am currently serving as a Sunday School teacher in our ward where I am teaching fourteen and fifteen year old young men and women and I'm sure that these amazing, bright and faithful youth inspire me much more than I do them.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Mike Guido
I have to admit that when I first heard this doctrine from the missionaries that were teaching me, I wasn't sure. But as I watched and listened to Ezra Taft Benson, the man I was told was a prophet at the time, I came away knowing that, at the very least, he was thoughtful, sincere, and truthful. I trusted him, so inellectually I was converted to the idea. From there I listened and studied more and I also read and prayed about The Book Of Mormon, asking if it was true, and eventually I received a sure witness that it was all true and very real. I believe this to be the power of the Holy Ghost. So, yes, I do believe that there is a prophet on the earth today. Show more Show less
