Hi I'm Kaylynn Hokanson

I am an art student at BYU-Idaho. I love Tennis. I am serving a mission in the Utah, St. George mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love art. I love to create it and see what others have created. I am a college student studying art right now. I am a tennis player. I started playing my freshman year of high school just to try it and I have loved it ever sense! I also play the trombone. I use to play in my high school jazz band and had a great time! I learned to love jazz from being a part of that band. Family and Friends are very important to me. I love spending as much time with them as I can! I am an aunt of two beautiful kids and I think it is one of the greatest things in the world! I am serving a mission right now and loving it! I am learning so much everyday. It is amazing to see the gospel change people's lives and to see the light in their face as they apply it in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been blessed to know that what this church teaches is true. I am grateful that I was able to be raised in a home with parents that knew the gospel was true and taught me what the knew in my home, which was a wonderful blessing. Because the gospel was in my home growing up I always knew home was a place I could feel the spirit and feel safe. I knew that I had a Heavenly Father that loved me no matter what, and His son Jesus Christ was someone I could always look to for help. My parents taught me that I needed to gain my own testimony and not relying on their testimonies. I have prayed and studied about this gospel. I can't say that there was one moment where I suddenly knew the church was true, over time, and through many experiences, I have been blessed to know that this gospel is true. The gospel has helped me understand that I am a daughter of God. I know that he has a plan for us so that we can be with our families forever. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ has made it possible, through the atonement, for us to overcome our weaknesses. This gospel helps me to know that there is always hope. Through times of hardship and struggle I know that everything will be ok because I am never alone. This gospel means everything to me. As I continue to make this gospel a part of my life my faith in Jesus Christ has been strengthened. My family has been able to come closer together. It means so much to me to know this church is true.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a full-time mission in the Utah, St. George Mission. As a missionary I get the opportunity to teach people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Doing this has helped me strengthen my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I am able to dedicate all my time for 18 months on helping others learn more about the gospel. I had older brothers and a Dad that served missions and as a little girl I always wanted to follow that example. So when I was 20 I put in my mission papers so that I could be called on a mission. Now my purpose is to help others receive the restored gospel, so that their faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement can be strengthened. I have been blessed to see this gospel change the lives of those we teach. We get to see a new light shine in them as the hope and joy that this gospel brings comes into their lives. I love to being missionary!
