Hi I'm Kyle

I am a college student working my way into a future career (ophthalmology?). I work on track and study the rest of the time.

About Me

I was born in Tokyo, Japan and I grew up in Missouri. I enjoy playing lacrosse, playing video games with my friends and playing with my family, I am also learning how to play the Penny Whistle. My favorite shows are Doctor Who, Sherlock, MLP:FIM, Phineas and Ferb. I am also a fan of superhero media (Particularly Spider-man, Blue Beetle, and Static). I served my mission in the São Paulo Interlagos mission or as I like to call it the SIÃO Paulo Interlagos mission. There I worked every day to help as many people as I could to have the same blessings of the gosple as I do. At times it was rough-the language was hard, I had to walk a lot, I was hungry and thirsty- but it was so worth it, I love my life and I loved my mission I really love the gospel. The Church has really given me a lot of purpose in my life and it has been a main center for joy in my life. I am now attending Brigham Young University Idaho working on a Biology degree. It has always been my dream to be some kind of doctor, I think it is because I have always wanted to help people, my parents always taught me to be kind to other people and I think that the examples of my own doctor, The Savior, as well as Joseph Smith have really furthered my natural want to make others feel better.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I grew up being taught the commandments of God. When I was a young child I wondered how I was to know the truth of what I was being taught my parents taught me to pray about it and I received a confirmation and have always known the truth of the gospel from that point on. There have been times when my faith was not as strong but I have never doubted the goodness of God. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I know becuase the spirit has testified to me of the truth. Everytime I pray, I feel that it is true. Everytime I read the Book of Mormon, the Spirit tells me it is true. Everytime I hear the Prophet speak, I know, he is called of God to be our guide on the path back to our Heavenly Father. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actually doing what the Savior would ask of me. I fulfill my ward callings and I live my faith by being worthy of the company of the Holy Ghost. I pray, I study the scriptures, and I work, I work to further my own salvation and I work so that I can bring others unto Christ. This is how I live my faith.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a record of two civilitations of the Americas in two different periods of Time. The Nephites, and the Jaredites. The Jaredites are a people who during the time of the Tower of Babel, because of their faith, where spared and led by God to the Americas. The Nephites and Lamanites are a branch of the Isrealites steming from the Prophet Lehi's family around 600 years before the coming of Christ. Lehi and his family are forewarned of the destruction of Jerusalum and led to the America's because of their faith. The Book of Mormon is not only a record of these people and prophets but it is also another testimant of Jesus Christ. The book prophisies of Christ, it glorifies in Christ and it testifies of Christ. Through prayer to God we can know that the Book of Mormon is true. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes I do, God is our loving Heavenly Father and he wants us to return to Him. In the Book of Amos (Old Testament) in chapter 3 verse 7 it says "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto His servents the prophets."That right there says that God give us prophets so that he can direct and guide us. In the Bible, Heavenly Father sent his prophets to guide his people, particularly when in times of great confusion. When I look around today and I look at what society is turning into, I think to myself that there has never been a greater need for a prophet then now. The only reasons that I can think of that Heavenly Father would not give us prophet are: A. God no longer loves us. I immediatly reject this notion. God is love so the idea that He, our Father, would no longer love us is ridiculous. B. We no longer need God, we have become so advanced and so enlightened that we have gone past the need for Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. This of course is a completly outragous and fictatious thought. So in conclusion, I guess the point I'm trying to get across is that yes we do believe that God calls prophets in our day just like Moses because he love us and we need that kind of guidence in our live.
