Hi I'm Lauren Maxwell

My name is Lauren Maxwell. I am a Californian, a college student, a "foodie", and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am twenty years old. I am the oldest child in my family, I have two younger sisters who are both in high school. I enjoy sci-fi movies, CSI type shows, and occasionally playing COD. I love spontaneous adventures and going to dances. I am majoring in Communications-Public Relations and minoring in Culinary Arts. My ultimate dream is to have a bakery/cafe somewhere in the Bay Area if California because that's where I grew up and I would love to stay there.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all of my life. When I was about fourteen years old I had an experience that caused me to pray for guidance and because I was helped and understood that it was because of the Lord that I was helped, my own faith in the Church and in Christ grew...I was no longer relying on the faith of my parents. Ever since then I have stopped living in "fear" of the Lord but rather I live because of the love of the Lord. I understand now that the rules we are given are to bless us rather than to be a hinderance to our lives, that understanding has made all the difference in my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently a sunday school teacher. I teach an hour long class every other week about the principles found in the Doctrine and Covenants in the Book of Mormon. I also visit teach other girls from my Young Single Adults ward here at BYU-I a few times a month. I live my faith by following the teachings of the Church and doing my best to follow Christ's example.
