Hi I'm Bruce

Despite being born in SLC, Utah and a decedent of Mormon ancestors, I had to find my own way to calling myself a Mormon.

About Me

I am a parent of 9 children, 8 girls and 1 boy. I am a grandparent of 17 grand-children and counting. I love to camp, hike and take pictures. I enjoy being with my family. I have been a Software Engineer for many years and enjoy technology and all that it offers to make our lives better.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though we didn't go to church as a family growing up, I would attend a local LDS (Mormon) ward on occasion. When I was in my early teens, I saw a Book of Mormon on the bookshelf. I decided to read it. When I was part way through the book, I realized that this was different than any other book I had read. A strong feeling came over me that what I was reading was true. I had never felt that way before. Even though, my life didn't immediately change to being fully living the gospel of Jesus Christ from that moment on, it did start a change. When I started dating my wife, I knew that I wanted to be the kind of person that she was. Over time, as I not only believed it was true, but started living the Gospel more fully, I became converted as I saw my life become better and better through living the Savior's teachings.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Scoutmaster in my ward. We currently have 9 boys in our Troop and I have enjoyed working with these young men and their boundless energy. I am also provided the opportunity to teach these young men on Sunday. They learn about serving God and others.
