Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am very blessed to be the father of 4 sons and the husband of the best woman in the world. I work as an electricial contractor and have specialized in computerized temperature contol systems and industrial automation. My oldest son and my nephew work with me in this company that was started by my father some 40 years ago. I have two grandsons and four granddaughters. and my wife and I are empty nesters. I like to ride motorcycles and snowmobiles and I am currently starting the restoration of and old pickup to a hot rod.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. My family has been in the church since the church was restored through Joseph Smith. One of my great grandfathers came across the plains to Utah in 1847 with Brigham Young. He then returned across the plains and returned to Utah with his family in 1851. I have known all my life that this is God's true Church restored to the earth in these the latter days. I have come to know that most of the happiness that I have received in my life has been because of the teachings of Jesus Christ and how my family and I have tried to live by those teachings. As we live them we are most happy. I have been very blessed to have a personal relationship with God through his Son the Great Mediator Jesus Christ. I have tasted of the sweetness of his atonement as he has lifted me from sin and sorrow. I testify that God lives and that we each can have a personal relationship with Him. He waits for us to knock at the door and then invites us in to feel of his light and gives us understanding to his teachings and knowledge of his plan for each of us.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a lay minister to a congregation of young married students at a university. This has been a very exciting and wonderful experience to serve them. Some of these young couples are students and some are working to support their spouse who is a student. Some couples are both students and both work to support themselves as they try and gain an education and a degree. Some have been married for only a short time and others have one or two children. Each member of the congregation serves in one way or another. Some are teachers, some are called to act as leadership to help serve one another. Each of these young families are trying to live a Christian lifestyle that is rooted in the teaching of Jesus Christ.
