Hi I'm Anna

I grew up in the Philippines. I am a convert to the LDS church. I am pleased to be a mormon.

About Me

I like sewing when I can find the time but have not done any lately as I work full time and I am also a part time student. I am a mother of two boys who are very busy with school activities as well. I have been a member of the LDS church for about six years now. I like going for drives with my family to the country side and observe nature's amazing beauty. I wish I was interested in photography so I could capture these majestic scenes.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband asked the missionaries to come to the house where I lived awhile back and when he told me about it, my reaction was "why would you do something like that without asking me first?" He told me to just listen to them ones and if it does not make sense to me then we can tell them to stop coming. When the missionaries came, I asked a lot of questions and they kept coming up with the right answers that made sense to me. Even then I had doubts. I am a person who always believed in prayer so I decided to pray about the truthfulness of what the missionaries were saying and through prayer, I had this feeling that what the missionaries were saying were true. A few weeks later me and my then 9 year old son got baptized then a few months later my youngest son was baptized as well. We have been a member of the LDS church and it's been a blessing. The church's focus on family values, the importance of family prayer and reading the scriptures keep me grounded in times of problems and when I felt that I didn't know what to do. Seeking guidance from heavenly father through prayer always helps me to come to my senses and helps me not overreact on the problems I encounter in my life no matter how big or small the problems are. The programs that the church have for the youth , inspiring them to be good examples to their peers, teaching them to choose the right, teaching them how to be kind and respectful and to be helpful to each other has been such a blessing for me as a mother of 2 teen agers. The members of the church are like family as well. They are are supportive to each other. They work together to help people who are in need. They even cook for you in times when you can't do yourself. They are family.

How I live my faith

I love going to church. My week does not seem complete if I don't attend the sacrament meeting every Sunday. One of my favorites about church is listening to testimonies during fast Sunday usually the first Sunday of the month.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons not only help Mormons but they help others who are in need also. The church actually encourage us to be healthy ourselves and do food storage so we are prepared and be able to help other people Mormon or not Mormon in times of disaster. Helping each other and other people is not only during disasters but in our everyday lives as well. Show more Show less
