Hi I'm N.E. Stansfield

I have lived in Utah and Idaho and am currently in Texas, I love playing the Violin and the Piano and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints my entire life and have loved it! I have Six siblings, two brothers and four sisters, all of whom are great examples to me and their families. In the past I have served in my community by going to the retirement centers and playing my violin and the piano for the residence there, being able to share the talent God has given me is a great treat especially when I get to see the joy in the faces of the elderly. I love being involved in my local drama group and have been acting for over ten years, I love it. I love reading, mostly fantasy and fiction, but I also love history and the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-Day Saints in Texas and will be for the next two years. Teaching people about Jesus Christ is a great privilege, it is the best!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is truly the Church of Christ. I have been a member all my life and have been greatly blessed because of it. Christ says that we learn things "Grace by Grace," "here a little, there a little." This is how I have come to know that this is the true church of Christ. As I have read the Book of Mormon, gone to church, participated in church activities and now am serving a mission for Christ, I have learned slowly but surly that Christ is our savior, that we are His brothers and sisters and that this is His Church. Every time I go to Church I feel His Spirit and learn of Him and the Holy Ghost testifies to me that what I am learning is true. I know that my ancestors approve of my choice to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I can feel their approval in every thing I do. This is the true church of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I have been taught all my life that the best way to serve God is to serve my fellow man and women through the talents and abilities God has given me. I love going to the retirement and rehabilitation centers in my town to play my violin for the residents to take the boring routine out of their day. I also have the great opportunity to sing and play my violin with my friends at these same places. I am big into scouts and have been participating in Cedar Badge the past few years. This program helps teach youth how to communicate properly with correct manners and all the life skill that there are to learn. This is a great program! I am currently serving as a full time missionary for my church in the great state of Texas spreading Christ's gospel to all who are willing to listen. This is a great opportunity to share my faith with others and to be what Christ wants me to be, "even as [He] is."

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

N.E. Stansfield
No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints does not endorse or support political parties of any kind as a Religious body. The Church however encourages its members to participate in all political functions using their own judgment in deciding what is the correct course of action. God gave man free will and none can infringe upon that. The Church respects individuals and their right of free choice. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

N.E. Stansfield
God speaks to men in many ways, one of which is through the written word. Those who wrote the Holy Bible were men of God inspired by Him to wright His word for our benefit. Yes we believe that the Holy Bible is the sacred word of God and can give us direction on how to live our lives the way He would have us. In addition we know that there are more nations than one and that God inspires all men, not just the Jews. Around the same time as the Bible was being written there were other men of God, in other nations, who were receiving His word and recording it at His command. This record we have received at the hand of God and call it the Book of Mormon, holding it as sacred scripture just like the Bible. We also hold other sacred writings as holy scripture received by inspired men ( Prophets ) in our day, these are called the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. Show more Show less
