Hi I'm Alyssa

I love life and bringing joy to others. My faith in Christ gives me hope and strength every day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my husband in the Mesa Arizona temple and have four young children. My family is my wild, sweet world! I enjoy reading good clean books, playing the piano for hours, singing in church choir and playing basketball. I love taking beach trips with my family where we can play for hours and enjoy having fun together in the sand and waves, and I'll boogie board if I get the chance. I'm usually thinking about my kids or my hubby and how to help our family draw closer to each other and the Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith gives me the courage to live each day with love and a hope that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have total confidence that my Savior Jesus Christ loves me and wants me and my family to be worthy to live with Him after this life. My trials and shortcomings aren't as daunting when I get on my knees and pray. I can always stand again knowing the Lord is on my side. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I see in it all of the principles and ordinances that were in the church He established when He was on the earth: a prophet, apostles, the priesthood, continuing revelation, and the same doctrine. Most importantly, I have prayed and felt the confirmation of the Holy Ghost witnessing to me of the truthfulness of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to help plan activities for the women in our congregation. I help plan activities like learning how to cut hair, discussing parenting kids and teens, discovering more about our family history, baking great recipes, providing service to others, and teaching on different inspirational topics. At home, I try to instill in my children a love of Jesus Christ and His gospel. We pray together as a family and read a children's version of the scriptures together each day. On Monday evenings, we have a little lesson, sing a few songs, have a kid share a talent like a piano piece or artwork, and end with a treat! This family night brings love and the Holy Ghost into our home. I live my faith by lots of little things like praying for my daughter to have a good day at school, keeping my thoughts pure by reading clean books, speaking kindly of others, dressing modestly, taking time to study the scriptures each night, and having a picture of Christ in my home. I visit with a few of the women in our congregation each month to share an inspirational message and see if there is anything I can help them with, and I love being like the Savior's hands helping others and my family.
