Hi I'm Russell Hitch

I'm a musician, I'm a missionary in Sweden, I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Russell Hitch, I grew up on Vashon Island Washington. After living there for 15 years my family and I moved to a place called Port Orchard where my family lives now. Currently I am serving my mission in the Sweden Stockholm Mission. Some of my favorite hobbies include mountain climbing, mountain biking, playing music, and being with friends. When it comes to music I have been playing the violin since I was 5. My parents always have pushed me to do my best. Then in the 6th grade I picked up the saxophone, which I played for 4 years or something. Around my sophomore year of high school I started playing the Guitar and I think it has become my favorite instrument.

Why I am a Mormon

This is why I am a Mormon. It provides a foundation for our lives, a foundation that provides us with the right morals and standards to lead and guide us. I have a testimony of this Gospel that I know it is true. I am so thankful to be able to be a part of this church, and to be a part of the work that is taking place.

How I live my faith

In December 2011 I decided that I wanted to serve a mission. That whole year I prepared myself to go. On May 5th I opened my call to serve in the Sweden Stockholm mission, and to report to the Missionary Training Center the 19th of September. I was scared yet ready to serve. From this decision to serve my Heavenly Father my life has been blessed immensely. The purpose of a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. That is what me and thousands of other missionaries around the world are doing each day. I'm so blessed to be able to be a part of this work.
