Hi I'm Curtis

I am from Missouri. I am studying Civil Engineering at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an all around kind of guy. I am currently studying Civil Engineering at BYU and loving it. With that degree I want to design waterways into peoples homes providing clean water to everyone. I also enjoy running long distances especially around the beautiful waterways of my home state Missouri. I like to play music on the piano, bass, cello, and trombone although I am not terribly good at any of them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt God's love for me and this Gospel seems like a natural extension of that love. While I was a youth I said a prayer wherein I asked God if he loved me and was cognizant of me. What I felt afterwards was a very direct confirmation that God DID care for me and was very interested in my well being. I knew then and still know now that this was the wonderful truth. In the time after that experience I thought about that simple truth of God's love and realized that our whole church was an extension of that principle. Is it not logical that if God loves us that he would send prophets in these latter days to guide us? Isn't logical that he would have a plan for us to return back to him? This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

A really great thing about this Church is in how it involves all of it's members. I currently serve as a helper for our Bishop, keeping him organized etc. However my church extends beyond Sunday. I take a religion class on the Book of Mormon as part of my schooling. I regularly participate in dances with my peers during the week. It is great to be able to have activities available that I can be with people that think and act using the same standards I do.
