Hi I'm Jessica Jolley

I'm a friend and a musician. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a passion for music. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 and I've been singing since 4. I have music running through my mind all day, every day! I adore my family, and I love spending time with my friends. I like to play volleyball and video games. I like school and I love to learn. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the California Sacramento mission, and I wouldn't rather be doing anything else in my life right now!

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon. I have heard the words of the prophets, and especially our current prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I have prayed to know of the truth of his words. I have prayed to know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I have received an answer on my own through the soft whisper of the Holy Ghost, and I couldn't be happier in my life living the standards set by our Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon and I'm proud of it.

How I live my faith

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I try to live my life following the life of my Savior and Redeemer by serving other people and sharing His gospel. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Sacramento, California. I want everyone around me to share in the happiness that I have seen in being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will raise my voice to everyone in proclaiming that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ established by Him. I belong to this church, I know who I am and I know the plan that my Heavenly Father has laid out for me. I know it, I live it, I love it.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jessica Jolley
We believe that Jesus Christ is the literal and Only Begotten Son of God. He was born in Bethlehem of the virgin Mary, and He led a perfect mortal life in service to other people. He is the only way and only reason why we can be redeemed of our sins, and eventually live with God, our Heavenly Father, again. Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Jessica Jolley
If you imagine the road that takes us back to living with God again as a pathway, then baptism would be the gate. A person has to be baptized by someone holding the Priesthood Authority of God to be redeemed. Of course there are more things that we need to do, like living a Christ-like life, and keeping His commandments throughout our life and always trying to be better, but baptism is the first step.
