Hi I'm Craig Dobson

I am Craig! I attend Brigham Young University - Idaho. I am the third out of four kids in my family and my eyes are blue.

About Me

I'm Craig! I attend Brigham Young University - Idaho. I will be a Sophomore this upcoming year. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I really enjoy working on cars and drifting them. My parents are happily married with four children. I enjoy working on cars and trying to fix things are broken or malfunctioning. And I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, both my parents are still very active in it. As I have gotten older I have found the church to be true and made it a major part of my life. I am a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the church and love my life as a Mormon. Also, when I was baptized I was given the gift of the Holy Ghost, just like every other member is given, and I love when I can feel the Holy Ghost in my life because it makes my life far more enjoyable and makes me happier as a person. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church on a weekly basis, I read my scriptures daily as well as attend to my church assignments.

What is being a Mormon like?

Craig Dobson
Being a mormon in this day and age has its many trials as well as blessings. Many people view mormons as a cult or as a false organization, which in turn, means people will chastise you for belonging to this church. I have found that many people hear a lot of lies about the church and when they ask you about them, and you tell them the truth, it opens their eyes and they begin to understand. I enjoy being a mormon. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Craig Dobson
To give a short answer to this question, no one is required to serve a mission. Everyone is given their own agency at birth, which means, we have the opportunity to choose what we want to do or not do. With that said, all young men, beginning at the age of 18, are very strongly encouraged to serve a two year mission for the church. Women may serve a mission too, once they are 19. A mission is entirely voluntary, in fact, the person going on a mission pays thousands of dollars for the opportunity to serve a mission. A full time mission is two years for men and 18 months for women. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Craig Dobson
Mormons believe that the doctrine in the Bible is true, as far as it is translated correctly. The Bible has gone through many translations and changes and today we do not have a copy of the original bible. Modern day scripture that Mormons believe in is the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Craig Dobson
There are multiple ways that I personally come to know my Father in Heaven better. The best way I do this is through prayer. When we pray, we pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. This is how we communicate directly to our Heavenly Father and gives thanks as well as ask for things we are in need of. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Craig Dobson
The reason Mormons do baptisms for the dead is because it is the only way that those who have passed away can receive the ordinance of baptism in their lives. The responsibility of doing this work for the dead is the responsibility of the members of the church who are still alive. Show more Show less
