Hi I'm Jason

I'm a newly wed, a student, and a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married since March 2012. We are both trying to figure out the kind of family we want to have. I am in school studying Psychology and Business. I want to end up teaching with some business experiences along the way. I run a blog that aims to build leadership capacity in all people. (whywelead.blogspot.com) I like to read almost anything. I love basketball, both playing it and watching it with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents taught me the principles from the scriptures and helped me get in the habit of going to church and praying. However, there comes a time when every person must decide if the doctrine is true for themselves. The reason I have stuck with my faith is because of the fruits it has provided for me personally. When I live by God's commandments, I am happier and more successful. When I fail to be obedient, I suffer the consequences. I know with everything that I am that Jesus Christ did live a perfect life. I know that he died for each of us. I know that it is through his death that we find life. My sufferings shrink when compared to the sacrifice he made for me and everyone. I know this was part of God's plan and that plan has a place for each of us. I'm so grateful for the perspective that gives me. So why do I choose to be a Mormon? I have studied and learned about the changes made to Christ's original church. I know that many of the small but important truths of the gospel have been tweaked. The Book of Mormon, translated by the prophet Joseph Smith, restores those truths. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and I know with out a doubt that it is God's word.

How I live my faith

My faith has blessed my life in numerous ways. It helps me connect with people and learn from them. Each month I get to visit families and teach them and find ways to serve them. One of the greatest experiences I have had in my life thus far was as a missionary for the church. Going door to door for two years has taught me the value of the message we shared. It was an honor to do Gods work.
