Hi I'm Scott Schwab

I am a 31 year old man with a family, faith, and a future. I have these things because of My Savior Jesus Christ.

About Me

After I was born, my family moved to Rexburg Idaho. I have 6 siblings, 5 of which are currently living. My life growing up was full of great times, wonderful friends, and a community that rallied around each other. It was neat to see what good people will do if they have a chance to help others. I had a defining moment at the age of 15 years old when I lost the use of my hands and legs. For more than a year I was in either a hospital, a wheel chair, or leg braces. I was able to see great people, including and monumentally my parents and family step up and support me every step of the way. I did see my share of trials, tribulations, and personal choices that took me from activitiy in the church. I wanted so badly to be the victim in many ways with what I have been through and thinking nobody really understood. I got a welcomed wake up call when friends started serving missions. I decided to do the same probably more to please others than being completely converted. My mission was and still is the greatest thing for my life. I struggled, grew, and found a Savior who loved me and only wanted happiness for me. The truth is the Lord had been there all along, but I was imature and didnt understand much of spiritual things. Since that time struggles have continued, I have grown, and found the savior even more now than I did at the time. The mission was the most important thing for my. I have a family with a wonderful wife and three children. I am an entreprenuer and love business.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because my life has not always been congruent with the churches teachings or standards. Though I was born into the church, I made decisions in my youth that I am not proud of and maturity has taught me are better not explored. I know Jesus Christ. Not just as a figure, but as my personal savior. This knowledge has helped me through circumstances that were large in magnitude and could have taken me in a very different direction. I believe that membership in the church makes me a better person, even though I still make mistakes and choices that are not always the most intelligent. Being mormon to me is not about being perfect, but seeking pefection. Perfection is Jesus Christ and that is why we seek Jesus Christ. We do so through the living of his teachings found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Additional books like the Doctrine of Covenants and Pearl of Great Price only strengthen the agrument that Jesus Christ did live, does live, and works through many means to bring each of his children back to him. I have a firm testimony that These books represent the fullness of the gospel and will give a person the knowledge that God lives and that he does have a church that bears his sons name. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is his church, it is true. I am so grateful for the sacrifices that the Savior made. The Atonement is truly that event where mankinds salvation hangs. Our progress in spiritual things is based on our understanding of who Jesus Christ is, his teachings, and based on true accountability; what his teachings allow us to become. I am a mormon, because there is not another option that is more suitable for my life. I am a Mormon because continually I see the decisions of society pushing our world further away from faith, God, and from spiritual things. God Lives! He has a son and he is infact the reedemer of the world. He called a prophet Joseph Smith to restore the gospel. God speaks to his prophets today, Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I start each day with the idea that the most important time of my day is when I can get up earlier than the kids and study. I love the scriptures and enjoy the time to get me ready for the challenges of the day. Everyone of my days is different, with a variety of challenges. Like most, I just try to make it through each day without going crazy. My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my daily life. I make poor decisions frequently, but I do know at the end of the day that Jesus Christ understands me, my challenges, and does guide me through. I donate time and resources to the Boys and Girls Club, which was a club that my little brother was enrolled in when we were kids. For him it was such a great way to get him involved in social settings with a mentor. My current calling in the church is in the Stake Sunday School Presidency. I enjoy the calling very much and find the teaching aspect of the church second to none. The content and curriculum is thoroughly refined and produced by the Lord's representatives. Essentially, we teach about Jesus Christ to the members of designated wards within the community.
