Hi I'm Irene

I joined the Church at 17. Raised 2 amazing sons and I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been a member for many years and find that the learning never stops. Sometimes I would focus on one weakness and work to make it stronger, then I would start on another. I have made many mistakes in my life, some small others more serious but I have learned from them that repentance is an amazing gift and blessing. I am no longer able to work due to my health but I find that gives me more time to learn and share my beliefs.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church as a teenager and thought of it then like I did being Catholic. Go to church on Sunday, confess when I made mistakes, and go on living my life. Being Mormon is more than that. It is a way of living. Following the Savior is so much more than just going to church. I have learned so much about Christ and His mission on earth, my purpose here, and that I am a true daughter of God. The Church family and my own family give me many opportunities to serve others, to learn to be more Christlike, to put others ahead of myself. It has not always been a smooth ride, I have wandered off the path from time to time, but the longer I keep going to Church and trying my best to do what I need to do to progress in this life, the stronger and more converted to the gospel I become. Without the gospel in my life I would truly be lost. Christ is the Son of God, we have a living prophet today (Thomas S. Monson) and have had many prophets since the time of Adam. God is unchangeable and so is His gospel, His commandments, and the truth. Being a member of the Church has helped me become a better person. I could not imagine being a part of any organization, of any kind, that could help me be so strong in my faith and knowledge of Heavenly Father's plan for mankind. The gospel is a wonderful gift and a blessing.

How I live my faith

I visit with others whenever possible, thru my church calling, to help them with things that they need both physically and spiritually. I have no car so rely on the kindness of others to help me to make visits. I pray frequently for help for my loved ones and for all of those in need-even the animals. I make an effort everyday to read my scriptures and study them so I might know them better. I also spend time working on family history for my family and for those that can't do it themselves. Doing this helps me to know the ones I serve and to show my love and do service for them.
