Hi I'm Teppo

I come from Finland, I am currently serving as a missionary in Germany and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Oulu and when I turned 5 me and my family moved to Texas. We lived a couple of years there and then moved to Copenhagen in Denmark for 3 years. After that we returned to our home town of Oulu. I enjoy sports, especially football. I used to play football myself for many years, but I quit playing in a club a couple of years ago. I still enjoy playing football with friends and watching games. Another sport that I enjoy watching is ice hockey. I actually lived in Dallas when the Dallas Starts won the Stanley cup and I still remember watching the parade in Dallas. It's funny how that is maybe the most powerful memory I have of my life in Texas. I graduated from high school in 2011 and the following summer I served in the defense forces of Finland for 9 months. I both enjoyed and hated my time there. However I do feel that the time spent in the army has prepared me mentally and physically for the mission, which I am now serving.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family which already was a active member of our church so I grew up in my family and was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. Being born into an active family in the church, it never really was my choice to get baptized, it just always was something that I knew I had to do when I turn 8. Only much later on in my life did I actually start understanding why I was a member of the church and why I kept on living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I realized how much the gospel had blessed my family with always having a house, food and clothes and my parents being employed. I saw that following the teachings of the church, my life was much happier. I started to feel the hand of God leading me in my life. My faith slowly grew by testing the principles the church taught, until I finally reached the point where I knew that this is the true church of God on the Earth today. I have personally felt the Spirit of God touch my heart and testify the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. I have felt my heart change. The reason I still continue to live the gospel today is because I know that there is no other way for me to get my salvation. I also know that by living according to the teachings of God my life will be blessed and I will never be alone. I will always have the Holy Ghost beside me, I will have a loving Heavenly Father who listens and answers my prayers and I have the unconditional love and grace of the atonement of Jesus Christ, which lift me up when I stumble and fall, through which I can be cleansed from my sins and once again return to live with my Heavenly Father. The reason I am serving my mission is because I know the truthfulness of these things and I want to give other people also the chance to enjoy the happiness and full blessings of God that the gospel brings.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a missionary in Germany, in the mission field of Frankfurt. I am really glad for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the people of Germany. I always try to do my best and do what the Lord wants me to do. One of the best ways I feel that I live the faith is by searching for opportunities to help others. Before my mission, I served in my branch in Oulu in many ways. For example every other Sunday I would give a hour long lesson on the gospel to the men of my branch. However my favorite calling in church was to help this small disabled boy participate in sunday school for children.
