Hi I'm Dionne Holyoak

My name is Dionne I like to go boating and I have a passion for dancing...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest in my family. I have one younger sister. I have moved seven times in my life. I did gymnastic for most of my life and then I decided to dance instead. I went to an early college High School called Itineris where I was able to graduate High School and with my Associates Degree at the same time. I serviced a mission for a year and a half in Mesa and Scottsdale Arizona. I was teach the gospel to those who didn't know about the gospel and those who want to know more about it. After I decided to go to BYU Idaho. I am studying Recreational Therapy. I enjoy doing country and Latin dancing, boating, hiking, and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel has been such a blessing in my life always. When I was younger I didn't really have a lot of friends. I had really hard time because I didn't know why I didn't have friends. I felt really a lone in my life. I felt like no one understood what I was going through. I didn't really have anyone that I could talk as a friend. I was praying one day to Heavenly Father for help with not really having any friends, and feeling a lone. I realized that there is someone there for me and that is Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I realized that they know me individual. I realized that I did have a friend. Also that there was someone who loved me and understood what I was going through perfectly. Christ knows me and you because he suffered for us individually so that he could help us when no one else can. I have been understand why I am here on the earth, and that I have a purpose in this life. I realized that I can make a difference in the world. I have been able to gotten help and received answers to questions that I have by read the Book of Mormon. I have been able to know that Jesus Christ and God are always there for me and will help me through my hard times in my life, and I know he as long as I keep I do what he wants me to do. This gospel also as blessed me to know that there is life after death and that I can see my family again. When my papa died of lung cancer it really helped so much knowing that I could see him after this life. I was able to handle the death of him better having the knowledge that I can see him again and that it wasn't the last time. Knowing that I can live with him again helps me want to be better and live the way that Heavenly Father wants me to live so that I can be with him forever. Also this gospel helps make decision in my life, but Heavenly Father knows the future is able to help me know what is best. I love this gospel so much!!!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do the things that Christ would do. I try my very best to do the things that my Heavenly Father wants me to do. I tried to be better each and everyday. I am not perfect, but I try my best. Heavenly Father knows what is going to make us the most happy, so as I live my faith it helps me in my life.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Dionne Holyoak
The church is against abortion is because you are taking the chance away from one of God children when you have an abortion because life is not form just when a baby is born. A mother can feel the baby moving inside of her. God children are important to him and he want everyone to have the chance to live on this earth and gain experiences. There are rare cases where we think that it is ok to have an abortion that is if Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dionne Holyoak
I am so grateful for Christ and that he did the atonement. The atonement when Christ suffered for everyone that has, is, and will be on the earth. He suffered for us individual. He suffered for our sins so that we can be forgiven. He made it so that we can have the guilt taken away for the things that we do wrong. I have felt this feeling of relief from the mistakes I have made taken away. He didn't not only suffer for our sins but he suffered for the pain, sorrow, hard time in that we have individually in our lives. He suffered so that he knows how we each individual feel. He did it so that he could help us, and to not be alone when we are dealing with trials in our lives. He is able to have a perfect understanding of what are going through. He is the one that can truly understand and is able to help when no else can. He died on the cross and lived again. He concerned death, and because of what he did we are all able to live again after this life. He did it not only to help us but to show his love for us. I know that Christ really did suffer for all our sins, pain, sorrow, and trial that we each going through in our lives. I know that he did suffer individually. He loves us so much! Show more Show less
