Hi I'm Jake Allred

I grew up in Idaho. I like to help people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and a future missionary. I like to make films, books, plays, just about everything. I like to serve and help people in any way I can. I love to read, watch movies, and to play the trombone for jazz band.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I have come to understand and live Christ's incredible life as much as I can, though I am not perfect. I know that God speaks to us regularly, we just need to listen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping keep and search for family history reccords. I served as a leader for many youth organizations and helped others come unto Christ. I will shortly be departing to serve a full time mission and preach the Gospel door to door for two years.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jake Allred
Tithing, or the donation of 10% of our income, is one of the principles that help our church keep going. When we all pitch in a little bith it allows us to help more people in more places. Even when we do have enough money it is still important for us to give them money; it is more of a sign of our willingness to serve and live by the Gospel rather than an actual need of monetary funds. One could technically think of Missionary work to also be a form of tithing, giving up 2 years after only about 20 years of living. Show more Show less
