Hi I'm Gwen Stevens

I was born and raised in Utah,and am a mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a retired mail carrier. I have a loving husband, five married children, twenty grand-children, and 33 great-grandchildren, most of whom live fairly close to me. I love to quilt, to read, and to host family parties with our extended family. We have a dinner here with over 60 family members every month.I am a substitute Seminary teacher for the Mormon church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. When I started dating a fine young man in high school, and found out that he was not of my faith, I told him we could no longer date because I wanted to be married in the temple and he could not take me there. The next week he was at our church, investigating the truthfulness of the gospel. He was baptized not too long after that and we were married in the temple and have enjoyed being active in the church for 59 years. I love the church and its doctines. It has enabled us to raise five wonderful children with its truth, its uplifting ideals and the knowledge that we can be together as a family forever. I have a strong testimony that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ, restored on earth again in these latter days

How I live my faith

In my ward I have worked for many years with the children, with the Cub Scouts, with the youth and am now teaching the women gospel lessons. I go visiting teaching every month to five wonderful women, who I cherish as dear friends. I am a substitute teacher in our church Seminary System, and dearly love working wih the youth ages 12 to 18. My husband and I served a mission to Tonga in the South Pacific, teaching the youth there at a Mormon school. We loved it very much. We have now been called to go on another misssion to Nauvoo, Illinois, a city steeped with Mormon Pioneer heritage. We look forward to teaching many visitors there about the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Mormon Pioneers who built this wonderful city.
