Hi I'm Eric

I'm a husband, father, and law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most beautiful wife, and we have an incredible baby boy. We are living in Massachusetts while I am studying law, and we love fall time in New England. I enjoy adventures in the outdoors, such as hiking, going to the ocean, playing touch football or frisbee, or taking walks through our neighborhood. I also love music, reading, and learning about our fascinating world. Mostly, I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, and I have always felt that God lives and loves me. As I have grown, my testimony has strengthened and deepened as I have experienced God's love repeatedly throughout my life. One way that I have drawn closer to God is through reading the Scriptures. When I read the Bible or the Book of Mormon, I feel His Spirit in my heart confirming the truth of the principles taught therein. I similarly feel close to God as I listen to the words the living Prophets. Through reading Scripture and hearing modern-day prophets, I learn a lot about how to live my life in a way that brings great happiness, particularly as I strive to emulate the example of the Savior by always looking for opportunities to help those around me. When I do live in this way, I feel that God is pleased with me. Even more important, my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a lot of hope, particularly because I know that Jesus Christ gave His life for me, which gives me the opportunity to change and improve. Because of the Savior's Atonement, I know that my imperfections are temporary as long as I trust in God and do my best. In fact, all I can do is rely on God and try to do my best, but I do believe that God is there and that He is reliable and trustworthy. That is what keeps me moving forward in my faith.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ guides all aspects of my life. I try to live my faith in all that I do, regardless of where I am or what is going on around me. The Church provides opportunities for each member to serve within the local congregation, since all local leadership positions are filled by lay volunteers. In my local congregation, I oversee the outreach efforts in the local community, and I work with full-time missionaries in our area to share information about the Church with those who are interested in hopes that the information will help those individuals in their personal journey of faith. I also enjoy participating in the many and varied social activities our church holds that provide an opportunity to build friendships with other people in our area. One great aspect of the Church is the emphasis on watching out for and taking care of each other. For example, members of the church visit each other through a structured program called "home teaching." This program means that each month, members of our congregation visit my home to share an uplifting message and make sure that my family and I are doing well.
