Hi I'm Cody Ebmeyer

I grew up in Southern California. I love sports. I am a full time missionary in the Spokane Washington Mission. and I am a Mormon

About Me

I love sports, especially football and track and field. I also enjoy doing artwork such as wood burning, graffiti, and graphic art. I am currently serving a full time mission for the church in Spokane Washington. I love making people laugh and I am very outgoing. When I return from my mission I want to go to college and become a Nurse or a counselor. I grew up in Southern California and have 2 sisters, who mean the world to me (as well as my parents).

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I really didn't have my true conversion until I recieved my mission call. I always knew I wanted to serve a mission but I never knew the why? factor. I just thought that its what I was suppose to do. When I recieved my mission call, I began to really deeply ponder if this is what I really wanted to do with my life. I knelt down one day and decided to ask my Heavenly Father if this was really the path for me. Most people say when they pray and recieve their answer that their answer feels like their chest is on fire or they feel that there was weight lifted off their shoulders, my answer was very different. After I had finished my prayer I didn;t feel anything, but these words popped into my head, "Well, duh Cody you already know the answer." I realized then that the steps that I had taken in my life were stepping stones to my complete conversion. I have always known that this church was true, and now as a missonary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I truly know that God does answer prayer and he answers them in many different ways, if we take the time to humble ourselves and simply ask then we shall simply recieve. I look forward to raising a wonderful family in this wonderful church. After my mission of course.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what most religious people do, I attend services on Sunday and help in the community, hold callings in the church and share what I believe with others. However as a missionary for my church it means way more to me, my faith is in my blood and in my thoughts, actions, and deeds. I no longer just show up on Sundays, now I want to go to church in fact I cant wait for Sundays to roll around. Through Jesus Christ and his Atonement(sacrifice) I have realized I can be so much more than just another member of the church. I now know that through my Faith in Him I can be more than I thought I could be, and become more than I thought I could become!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Cody Ebmeyer
I know without a shadow of doubt that there is a God. He loves us so much. I know this because I have seen his loving influence make its way into the hardest and also the most humble people. Having an opportunity to go out for 2 years and help people realize that there is someone who loves and cares about them unconditionally is proof for me. God has allowed me to use my talents and personality to help those I meet in my mission. One major way I know is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Applying the principles that we learn from it bless our lives, why wouldn't God want our lives to be blessed. All we have to do is let it work into our hearts and we will soon see His love more in our life. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Cody Ebmeyer
What is a Testimony? It is the feeling that we have within ourselves that we know something is true no matter what anybody says. The way we obtain a testimony is through sincere study and prayer to our loving Heavenly Father. Through the Holy Ghost we obtain that sure knowledge that we are learining is true. As we share our testimony it also strenghtens others. As a missionary I know that that is true. We take 2 years of our lives to go and share our testimony with others, our true conviction to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that we know God lives and he loves us. I know that Jesus Christ carried out the Atonement so we could be forgiven and loved and to also learn and progress towards Eternal Life. I know that Joesph Smith restored this wonderful Gospel back to Earth in these last days. I know that because I have a sure foundation in Christ, and it is through the power of the Holy Ghost that I am able to have this burnig desire to share it with everyone. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Cody Ebmeyer
Missionaries go out and proselyte because we have a cure. Not a cure for cancer or other diseases of the world but a cure for eternal life. We as missionaries share something that is so important, it's called the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By applying the teachings of Christ we are guaranteed to live a better life, we will see more blessings and experience a deeper happiness that no earthly object can give us. That happiness is from our Heavenly Father and he wants all of us to experience it, that is why missionaries go out for 18-24 months and share this wonderful message because we have the cure!
