Hi I'm Tyrell

I'm an outdoors enthusiast, a logger, a Southern Utah boy, a missionary in the foreign land of Texas, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Tyrell and I grew up in the desert of Southern Utah. I come from a long line of loggers so its in my blood. I love going out into the hills by my house and just enjoy the red rocks, sand, and sagebrush. I also love sports. Football, baseball, and wrestling in particular but soccer and tennis are starting to grow on me. I have been a missionary for the Church here in Texas for a while and wouldn't trade the experiences I've had or the lessons I have learned for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God told me through the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. Growing up in Utah or growing up as a member of the Church does not mean that you don't have to find out for yourself. Just like everyone that comes in contact with the Church, you have to come to your own conclusion if it is right of wrong and the only way to truly know is to ask God. I went to Sunday school as a little child and as a teenager but i always leaned on the testimony of my parents and others. As I got older I began to realize that if I was going to continue going to church, I needed to have a testimony of my own. So one night after reading a little from the scriptures, I knelt down at my bed and prayed about it. I didn't see any miraculous visions or have a voice speak to me, but rather, an overwhelming feeling of joy came over me. That night at the side of my bed, the Holy Ghost told me in my heart that the Church is true and that this is where he wants me to be. I know that God answers prayers. He loves us and wants us to know His will. If we will only ask in faith, believing that He will answer us, we can know the truth of all things. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by doing my best to follow the example that the Savior set for us all. In the scriptures we learn that we aren't suppose to live our faith only on Sundays when we go to church but every day of the week. By doing our best to always keep the commandments and serve others, we demonstrate our love for God, live our faith, and allow our faith to grow.
