Hi I'm Kirsten Goodman

Soccer player | Paintballer | Soon-to-be Kindergarten Teacher | Mormon

About Me

I'm currently a student at Utah Valley University, enrolled in their Elementary Education program, with hope of becoming a Kindergarten teacher! I am 20 years old & I love playing soccer or going paintballing in my spare time. Things that make me happy are recognizing others for their accomplishments, eating chocolate and/or ice cream, finding things to celebrate, spring, and when people laugh! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, often referred to as the Mormon church.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing that this world can offer that even compares to the peace, strength, happiness, and hope that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ does. That is why I am a Mormon. I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and it has been the biggest blessing in my life. Everyone faces struggles, trials, and difficult times in life. Its unavoidable. But, this church, this gospel, has everything you need to overcome it all. No matter what you are facing, because of the complete truth that has been restored in these latter days through Joseph Smith, I know that there is hope. I want everyone to know this hope and happiness. Perhaps one of the greatest sources of strength that I've come to know in the church is the Book of Mormon. I've studied it over and over, and every time I read it, I find things that pertain to my current circumstances. I've taken the challenge from Moroni, in Moroni chapter 10 verses 4-5. I've come to know of the truth it contains, and I feel like I've been so blessed. If there is one thing I know with all of my heart, its that Heavenly Father knows each and every one of us. He loves us so much that he gave his Son to come and save us! He wanted us to come home to him so badly. Our brother, and redeemer, Jesus Christ came to earth to do the will of His father and provide the way home. He made it possible for ALL of us to return. I know that Christ performed the Atonement so that he could understand each of us individually - our doubts, our pains, fears, trials, temptations. He knows exactly what we need and gave his own life so that we could live again. I know that our Heavenly Father and brother, Jesus Christ love us unconditionally and perfectly. They only want what's best for us and our happiness during this mortal life. I know that living the gospel is they way to finding this happiness. I know that when I see Christ again, face to face, I will not know any better then, than I do now, that he is my Savior and brother.

How I live my faith

Living my faith can be a tough challenge sometimes as a 20 year old woman. Every person has their own battles that make living their faith difficult. My main struggle is focus. I am a college student, employed part time for a wonderful company, and life gets busy. It can be hard to remain focused on the gospel & live my faith. There are a few things I do that help me to remain focused & live what I know. I study my scriptures daily & find appropriate opportunities to discuss the gospel with people near me. I choose faith over fear when something doesn't work out like I planned - I'm not perfect at it, but I try my hardest to trust that my Heavenly Father has something better in store for me. I try to show Christ-like love, understanding, and forgiveness to everyone I encounter.
