Hi I'm Analisa Dawson

I'm in the Nursing program at BYU. I love life, music, serving others, reading, sports and chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe that you've got to take life by the horns! There are so many wonderful things to experience in life, and most of the time it's our own fears, and doubts that hold us back. While I was growing up, my family moved all over the country so I've seen lots of really neat places. I've learned however, that it's not where you are physically that brings happiness, but rather it's the attitude you approach each day with that makes life worth living. I get up each morning and strive to fill each day with the things that are important to me, and that will help me develop into the loving daughter that my God, my Eternal Father in Heaven wants me to be. Notice I said strive, because I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ, who does not require perfection of me in this life, but rather that I simply give my best effort to Him on a daily basis. Music is one of my great passions and it is a means whereby I can express my love for my Savior, and thank Him for his gifts. I sing, play the violin, piano, and flute. I am the second of 8 children, and I love spending time with my family, my best friends. I am in the nursing program at BYU and I look forward to being able to serve others as a healer and a teacher in the hospital. I love baking, especially anything chocolate. In my spare time I read pretty much anything I can get my hands on, fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, sci fi, textbooks, novels, you name it! I am a runner, and my goal is to run a marathon someday!

Why I am a Mormon

When the Savior asked if his disciples would desert Him as the multitudes had, they replied with a question: where will we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. I don't remember a time when I didn't know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the church of God on this earth, and that by the power of God, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I was born to parents that love the Lord and taught me to follow Christ, and as I grew older, my testimony grew and strengthened as I developed habits of personal scripture study and earnest prayer, and as I came to know my Savior in a personal way. The peace and clarity the gospel brings into my life is beautiful and I know that there is nothing else on earth that can bring me such complete happiness as I receive when I follow the commandments of The Lord. I truly could not imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

Throughout the past two years I have had the privilege to serve in various callings in my ward. I have served as an FHE co-leader, a counselor to two different relief society presidents, and most recently as the ward music coordinator and ward choir director. I have learned from my service the value of individuals, and of reaching out to all of those around us. Each person we pass each day is a beloved son or daughter of our Father in Heaven and deserves to be loved and to be valued. In my personal life, I strive each day to do better than the day before. I try to share my light by the way I'm living. I dress modestly, use clean language, and don't drink or smoke. I share my testimony each chance I get! I love people, and I love serving them. I am about to leave to serve a full time mission to help others to come unto Christ and to know of His goodness. I am so grateful for this chance I have to help others make covenants with God so that they can experience the fulness of the gospel as I have, and to experience the rich blessings that come from serving the Lord.
