Hi I'm Shane

I'm a new dad. I'm a soccer player.

About Me

I recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and currently work at an engineering firm. I got married in 2009 and have a new little baby girl. I love soccer and have been playing on a City League Team. I also like other sports and activities including cycling, basketball, running, hiking, and other outdoor things. I enjoy building and fixing things including old cars, houses, legos... etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion. I am still true to my faith because the teachings of the gospel and the lifestyle that goes along with it brings peace and happiness into my life. The gospel teaches that our Heavenly Father's plan is referred to as the "Plan of Happiness". I have come to know that living my religion truly brings a unique happiness to me and my family. Everyone is encouraged to gain their own testimony, and my testimony has come little bit by little bit through scripture study, service, and living the commandments. I have felt and seen the blessings that are promised to those who follow our Savior Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is proof of the restored gospel on the earth through Joseph Smith the prophet. I have read the book and prayed to know of its truthfulness. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that families can be together forever. I am grateful to know that this life is not the end of our existance. The love, knowledge, experience, and relationships we obtain in this life will go with us through the eternities. That can be hard to comprehend, but I know that it is true. I enjoy being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the church in Sao Paulo Brazil and loved it. I am currently seving with the men's group in my ward. I help organize activities and teach lessons about building comradery, family, honor, duties and responsibilities in home and community. I also participate in the choir program.
